I land on a planet, it always fades to white & dies

Every time I attempt a planet landing, my ship is skimming the athmosphere and then it fades to white and the window disappears. I feel lost in space... does anyone know of this issue and a solution?

do youi have directx 8.1 or higher installed?

Hmm, I just installed 9.0c and I continue to have the same issue... Space runs flawlessly though.

im having the same problem landing on zoric i have 9.0c and lastest prosavage driver

hmm...it only happen on zoric?

don't think thiers any unusual graphics settings thier at all.

no its happen when ever i try to land on any known planet

if you're running fullscreen, could you try it in windowed mode and see if its any different..?
Also, perhaps try going to the graphic options in small mode (F1) then turning off anything to do with shadows. Let me know if either helps.

I am having this problem also off and on when i try and land on planets.

when i first started i had alot of issues but this one keeps getting it me... it takes alot of trys but sooner or later i can land on the planet and then i normal do not have the issue again

Ive got the same problem!!!

It worked perfectly for ages and then started dying when i tried to land on a planet
It's weird
anyway i have no idea but i think it might be somethingn to do with an update that was loaded today and the galaxy was shut down mmmmm
*scratches head like a monkey*

anyway it said it would be down for 2 mins then the errors started occuring i reinstalled the game 2 times (once deleting all the games files and possibly all regestry bits) over many hours!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHOA! This topic came out of the blue!
maybey there was an ID on the planet that is your current ID and made you die because you character wasn't in a house fully loaded.
