Problems with planes.

Hi all

I got my world up and running pretty well, im just having a problem with the planes. I downloaded some models and textures as well as a .atm and used the guides to set them up. But my planes dont ever leave the ground. They just bounce and skip along. However they do not take damage over water. Is this how they are suposed to act or are they suposed to get airborne. And if they do get airborne what did i do wrong that mine wont.

try increasing the Air Thrust and/or Speed Lift Ratio?
increasing the first will make it go faster, increaseing the 2nd will make it take off easier.

could also lower drag, this will let the plane travel faster.
