wtf @ my chat channels

Ch. 4 2: [??]

My chat channels don't seem to work anymore. How can this be fixed?

Hm. I see names in the channels now, but [??] still is there. Is it a person?
Anyways, I can't chat. I type stuff but it doesn't arrive. Tried both with and without ;.

doesen't that happen when the chat server gets the max records stored and needs a reboot to clear the unused ones?

The problem is occuring with other people too. A player named mental/mental07 is being displayed in the channels as [??] and cannot post a message on the channel but can hear those speaking on the channel. I'm able to communicate with him through a private space channel but through the best of our efforts we could not resolve the problem.

yep thats me. I can see what everyone else write on the public chatroom thing but whatever I type dissappears when I press enter. This is quite annoying since the only other way I can talk to people is individually through the com....thing. Also I never show up as being on the chatservers but instead appear as ??. Hopefully this can be fixed.

does this also apply to the space chat? because I type a message in space chat, but I don't see my message. No ones has ever responed to me. The only way I know of chating to someone is by using the com, and of corse players that never resive a message before take a while to figer out why the eperson name is flashing with a c- next to their name.

In space, no-one can hear you chat. Obviously :)

(unless you use the com, or private chat channels)

We probably need to assign a little beepy noise to go with the flashing com light, so it's easier to spot the incoming message. That gets me a lot, too. Of course it really should just pop up a live video link to that person, but you can't have everything..
