reina roja - hypermode
KK Seer .. good point, tho it's from a 'player's perspective.
I still dont know if the game should be setup to accomodate internal embargos though, But hey it's not my world is it?
Thx for help with employee decay Hedge.
Possible Bug: If your at =/> 100% inventory and try to unstock a vehicle it will 'poof' on ya. other Items give ya the "can only carry so much' warning and not work .. but my Uni completely disapeared. No big now .. but could be bad later if is common throughout vehciles.

i think the next thing we'll try is copying roja to a new server, but allowing teams full access control over any of their teammate's buildings.
that way you have a noob build somethin, and even if they never come back, it's all good. the ownership rules will get stuck at highly restrictive, but there won't be any employee requirements.

how about instead of having every one have control
instead of every one having control of buildings how about having elected chairs once a week or 4 days since every one has to sign on that often. and every 4 days the leader is changed. but it will take 4-8 days for it to take affect. like if the vote started on the 1st then the elected player will take power on the 8th. or some interval that is greater than 4 but regular enough that players will not go with out a leader.
that doesn't describe any current game feature as far as i know :]
the other problem is i just totally don't have the time to have some kind of world that requires a lot of babysitting or manual management. that and i don't like the idea of human interference with a world very much. it should just be able to kind of exist on its own.
even if i did have the time, i've got way too much texturing to catch up on, heh.

Hum .. so in your copy scenario .. if a new/any player sets up a bldg and forgets to set buy/sell/invest.. teamates could simply set them/invest and the bldg becomes prodcutive?
That would resolve a lot of deadends in team/world advancement.
Back to the Evil Noob issue. Are ther any 'friendly fire' controls in the world software? Setting that off somehow would surely stop teammates from ganking each other.

yeah, there are, but would that be any fun?Ydle wrote: Back to the Evil Noob issue. Are ther any 'friendly fire' controls in the world software? Setting that off somehow would surely stop teammates from ganking each other.
how would this require manual mantainance?
I mean for the players to beable to vote for their leader. how is that maintanance on your part? just have an option on voting for every player on your team and your self.
I mean this will take no mantainance after the system is stablly setup but like you said it would be very hard to make. the thing I am worryed about is that their might be people purposely sabatoging all the important buildings.

Cant' destroy it, would expect ya couldn't sell it, run it at a loss or remove from investments.Hija wrote:I am worryed about is that their might be people purposely sabatoging all the important buildings.
As proposed all ya could do is insure it's ability to produce, and distribute, its product.
How would that result in sabatoge, or am i missing something?

When it says that it usually means the world is running server code that's designed for a later version of the client than the one you're using. And usually that means the world is using a beta server for which the proper client is still being tested, and isn't generally available. As long as you've been to the downloads section and successfully installed the latest patch, you've done all you can. If you can still play I wouldn't worry about it :)

Re: signs of life
I have heard that reina is down because of the ramifications of hedgehog being out of his home town.Is it just me... Or is Reina and Reine dead?
As far as I know, everything's fine - except hedge might be away for a few days and some knuckledragging workmen are causing regular power outages by using the sockets in his apartment to power their jackhammers and stuff.
Actually that sounds much less convincing than it oughta. But it's probably true :)

it was just the one time they did that, but then the landlord must have flipped all the switches off and back on while we were gone, which caused the comp to go down.
the funny aside to that is when my alarm clock reset, the alarm went off, and has been for three or four days solid. the cat was a tad unnerved :]
anyway i'm home now, they're both back up.
