photoshop and mspaint is the king combo for textures

The roads where photoshoped, so was the huge world texture so you had grass/snow/sand..., so where the trees, even the map was photoshoped

Oh. So maybe when i get better with photoshop i can help out with that. Anyways is it possable that instead of modeling would it be possable just to take a picture of a vehicle or building from a digital camera put the picture on photoshop change the picture so you just see the outlines then color it in. Could i then put the building are vehicle in the game?
models are more plentiful and quicker to make than decent textures, so getting in to photoshop would always be a good thing for helping the game out.
Using digital source images and then manipulating em to make textures is the most common practice in game dev these days (artists who hand-draw textures are becoming rarer and rarer).
The tricky bit is getting a image into the template layout needed for texturing a model without completely distorting and fecking up the appearance. Perhaps fooli will provide a couple of texture templates and models for you to experiment on? (*nudge fooli)
