Suitable z-depth format???

Post by Huss »

ok, new error to me, after the client connects, when i hit the Enter island button i get this-

Couldnt find a suitable z-depth format. You may need to change your desktop display format (from 32bit to 16bit for instance) for this game to work.

then some buttons

Abort button-Crash Client
Ignore Button-Crash Client
Retry button- Direct 3d create device failed. Trying with software renderer, Performance may suffer

more buttons...

Abort button- Crash
Retry button-Crash
Ignore button-Crash

System Specs: Windows XP
Intel Celeron at 1.3
Geforce 3 Ti200
512m sdram

Tried that, still same, updated vid drivers and got directx 9b and it still crashes

ok, been messin around with it and it looks like the client dosent recognize my vid card,
In the video options i used advanced directx init instead of basic and i get this

D3D8 Application
No hardware-accelerated direct 3d devices were found
Switching to the reference rasterizer,

Then i get this
A-tractor DirectX Error. Your video options may need adjusting
A-tractor is about to die

:(

ill be screwin round with it for a bit more than i gotta hit the sack

It's almost always best to run with basic dx options on. Make sure your drivers are running default/compatibility settings. As far as I know 16-bit z is all that's supported. Try reinstalling the client. Um.. anyone?
