I've been away so long I've forgotten the point of having Worlds. Could someone tell me?

the worlds are what everyones isles need to be able to get buildings and so they can have their isle connected to that gateway! i think mit was planning on makeing it possible to have ur own gateway as such, like if u paid but i think that plans binned! althouh interesting reading was on the latest update page thingy *me thinks back* saying that we could all possibly get one hmm.... i will check and edit this after!

so basically without a world we wouldnt be able to connect to the gateway and get our bdat ect! so if we had our own people would have to add it via the ip and port i think :?
also we could potencially create our completely own isle without relying on those world owners hedge devi zar ect!

I prefered it back when each island owner had to make up their own bdat. After all, It meant that each building was tailored to his or own ideas about unemployment benefit, starting cash, rate of growth etc... and if something went wrong he could quickly change something. After all its a bit strange for the island owners to conform to the world's expectations rather than his version of an economy. I just think that certain economies are better suited to certain worlds and that just isn't right.
