I suppose royalty could be a quest, but it's not on all islands.

heh, quests, now thiers an idea.
thoguh, with the current stuff in place only quests could involve finding a building or making something.
maybe a super hilly island could be developed with tons of trees to make it look like a mountenous forest and hide a few buildings in it to find.
or make a big wall maze
or build 500 houses on an island and find the one that has an item in it.

We were kinda discussing arranging some stuff like this recently..

So, to start us off, for the next version ive added in a lil bit that goes like this..

In the game there are now 4 "orbs" (I like orbs, its a lovely word. Its kinda primal). Each will have a different name, The Orb of the Monkey might be one, for instance. Put your suggestions here for the names and i'll pick the best 4 to use.

There can only ever be 1 of each orb, and im not gonna tell ya where you'll be able to get them from, but if anyone ever manages to collect all 4 orbs they'll become the 'ruler' (i.e. owner) of a world in the game.

We'll be arranging lots more stuff like that in the new year.

Monkey's Orb
Sheepy's Orb
Donkey's Orb
Bull's Orb

Very good idea to add that kind of "subgames".
In an ideal A Tractor world, i'd love to have the ability to set quests like, for a dumb instance :

You find a fishy. He says his name is bubbly, he's lost, and if you could find his glassy bally home (sorry no idea for the translation), and bring both of the items back to his homeworld oceania, he would lead you to an hidden submarine cave where a special vehicle is awaiting for his driver/rider/pilot/anything.

Note : example idea quite stolen from another game.

Letss Follow a More Traditional Line here...
And maybe each orb could have some kind of effect on that person. Say (using the names i have below) an Orb of Life lets the Player Die unlimited times. or Orb of Death Prevents the Player From having actual Death. Orb of Light Provides extra light at night. Orb of Dark hides them under Darkness (might be good on Fighting ilsands) Orb of Creation, Exempts that Player from Building Taxes. Orb of Health Player Doesnt Need to Drink or Eat. Orb of Fuel Player Doesnt need Fuel. Little things that Make a big Difference and gives more motivation to find them. could also do orbs of wood stone steel plastics.. that would provide so much of each every game year or something. But it would be only usuable in Contruction (say it cant be sold or stocked)

Orb of Life
Orb of Death
Orb of Light
Orb of Dark
Orb of Creation
Orb of Health
Orb of Fuel

okay im Giving mit ideas again.. hes probably gonna get a fly swat or newspaper soon :P

Orb of Foundation
Orb of Government
Orb of Assistance
Orb of Commitment
Orb of Existance
Orb of Flight
Orb of Sound
Orb of Sight
Orb of Sense
Orb of Light
Orb of Reality
Orb of Age
Orb of Kudo
Orb of Money
Orb of Spirits

Just a few quick (serious) suggestions. Nice idea of a 'quest' so to speak, in pure tractor-style. We wouldn't have it any other way... (yet) :)

I really don't want to start my second reply after about 2 months or so of not doing anything but reading the forums once every week and noticing that sometimes a few people were using the forums...buit I digress...

Anyway, what I really wanted to say, due to my highly critical mind which can spot flaws, which apparently some(i.e. most) people don't like, is that theres no real use of having your very own world if you don't have your very own world.

Although I think that everyone has forgotten this anyway so I'm a bit late in saying so, but that was the initial aim of the first post or something...

ok, i'm probably missing or not understanding something but, what does "theres no real use of having your very own world if you don't have your very own world" really mean?

and...isen't the aim of the first post just asking if thiers quests?

Whatever it means, it almost certainly wont be appropriate when the game fully includes the remote hosting possibilities and the other things demonstrated in the next vers.

What I meant to say was: theres no real use of having your very own world if you don't have your very own 24hr computer...But I think Mit understood anyway...Remote hosting? So its true that we could host thingies over the internet without a computer?Wow, thats so amazing my heads gonna do something...

remote hosting is nothing new, you already know i've been hosting islands for a while now. and i will probably/hopefully continue to host islands and other a-t stuff long into the future.

i'm assuming remote hosting possibilities is the way to remotely change models etc. which i think has been possible i think since 3.99.0. I don't remember the commands to do it, but i know its possible in the current public release for an island owner change vehicle and building models/textures from his/her client.

btw, welcome back
