mit, can you please get turrents working without crashing clients?

also, if possible, can thier be a 2nd town type added? exactly like the first one, but with the radius 1/2 the set town radius?


both things i'd greatly love to have for wings field

town size done in 0.1.41. For town buildings, their radius is now controlled by a combination of the *settings -> world -> Base Town radius and the 'Trigger Param' set in the bdat. If this is set to 0, the default value (10) is used, which means the town's radius is that defined by the settings. Values lower than 10 reduce the size, higher than 10 increase it. (For instance, 5 is half the normal size, 1 is one tenth, 20 is double the normal size).

Turrets i'll look into shortly..

um.. and on first inspection they actually seem to work fine for me (tho they're slightly too lethal :] ) on adding a turret to the map and setting its team it aimed at me, fired something nasty looking and i was killed :)

I then turned off the firing for a mo just to check it was tracking me correctly and that seemed to work fine too. (Those 360 turrets on the model library look well mean when they follow you about like that :] )

So um, right.. does it crash immediately for you when you add a turret? Have you tried it recently?

last time i tried them was on zoric around 1.35 version and whenever they fired, every connected client crashed.
tried trigger param as 0, 1, and 2 in the bdat. don't know if that or other settings are needed for them. asked hedge and he said they were fecked.
will try them again later today.

had a further look thru the code on the turrets and can see various possibilities for why it'd crash for you and not me.. wouldnt bother trying em jus yet :)

All needs a bit of a rewrite to get em to work with the new weapon scripts.. have started on that process, shouldnt take too long to sort out.
