Zoric has a..unique ,economy, and it is active, just now and again though, usualy if one active player goes, another joins just to see what he/she's up to :P

I think things will start to pick up in later ages, when building feels more secure, give it a few weeks, and i'm sure the econ will be more than alive.

To steer this back on topic with a large amount of rope and a bat, more than alive would imply that it was immortal. Can economies be immortal?

Economies can be immortal. Reine Blanche 2's economy was immortal.
Government buying.

Why nobody is on Zoric? There's nothing worth doing.
Idea was great, but I don't plan on running a business that's going to be closed because it isn't needed anymore soon.

you just need to upgrade your building by destroying the old one and building a new one. the 100% material recovery will help alot with that. thiers also the stone that'll always buy stuff to support the gov buying.

anyway, yea, main thing i hear about it not being played alot is that because mostly you don't have to hang around on the island to do stuff since thiers not yet alot of stuff to do. you can easily get away with only logging in once every few days.

thiers also the low fps caused by the stone buildings that are keeping people away a bit. but stone buildings can easily be replaced by wooden ones now.

Solution: Mini-games with rewards.

-Getting X points in UltraKricket
-Completing a race in X seconds
Such stuff...

Not really. They tend to grow, mature, and dye back. Either that, or they do sort of have extending surcumstances.

VDZ, government buying is NOT an economy.

An extending circumstance would be one like the US economy, which should have perished 30 years ago, but is instead on a slow slide down - thou that slide is now starting to accelerate. Dollar is expected to devalue another 60% against the Euro over the next few years...

They cannot be immortal, but they can flounder for a lifetime.

Erm EXCUSE me? Assorted snogging? What do you take me for?

I let Nigel kiss me, noone else. You try it, and I will break your teeth - if you be lucky.

If I know Nigel it's likely he'll revert to it later as well when his point is disproven - therefore, it's planning ahead ;)

Morli, you obviously don't get the idea behind short posts.
Let me explain.
Reine Blanche 2's economy was very good.
But, with a very good economy, it all depends on the players.
But, because of government buying, working when nobody's there also earns you money, and people attract people, and more, and more, an RB2 will keep having enough users to play the economy.
