If you're trying to acess the starport by playing battlezone in "quickplay mode" it wont work, you need to land on the planet like you would others. I learnt this the hard way.
Um, this is sane advice?Vagrant wrote:Just don't get any credits..
And yes, I have had the same problem - hyperspacing without realising I had to move right away from any planets cost me 3 iridium when I hyperspaced through Battlezone and wound up back in orbit.
I went planet-hopping to find Gyruss, which was a waste really, as due to personal issues, I be out of Universal for a few days at least.
Luckilly, with a bit of help - trading in ALL the starting credits on Planetia, I was able to get fuel to get back to Battlezone.
The hyperspace bug should really be fixed - either straight abort when you hyperspace near something (gravity well collapses the field) or a warning.
Yes, it is sane advise, most people wouldn't be able to gather up 14-15 credits within a single system. Since they've already used their fuel, they are only able to get to other systems by A) blowing a portion of the limited supply of credits on fuel, ultimately leading them to be unable to change systems period. Or B) using !resetme while in space which will let them select which system they want to start in, but will also clear their current credit balance leaving them just as how they started with 0 credits and 6 fuel. Resetting also changes the amount of credits gained from planets to 0, but you don't regain the money/kudos spent echanging those credits.
So, by saying that people should not exchange credits, it would mean that they can reset as often as they need to without losing anything. As opposed to say forcing yourself into poverty on a planet by exchanging credits, coming up short, being without fuel, hearing about the !resetme thing, using it to get to other system, but losing those credits and being in a bad spot on those planets for no reason. This also applies to the 80+ hours spent on battlezone that could be wasted in an instant, or slowly through buying of unneeded fuel.
It is also worth noting that when doing a !resetme, it doesn't affect your status on any planet, so if you have 150 kudos on battlezone, after resetting you will still have the 150 kudos on battlezone. This means that you can be running your empire on planitia, zoric, and gyruss, while building up your kudos on battlezone through quickplay, then reset to tau ceti to exchange those gathered kudos for credits, then those credits for an infimp drive without ever being stuck in a single system.
