Zoric 8 wiped - god damned fecking trojan broke my pc

as the topic says. zoric 8 is now gone.
basically, i was searchging google for mario brothers maps, and one of the sites that came up said it had all kinds of stuff. i went to it and it ended up being some damned dirtyspammer site with browser hijacking stuff and all kinds of java scripts and trojens. McAfee and AdWatch were going absolutly nuts finding tons and tons of stuff, pc locked up, i rebooted, and bam, os corrupted and wont boot.
none of the bootable win2k cds i had would work in the computer, so i ended up haveing to completly reformat the hard drive and instal windows 2003.

so...zoric is completly gone. along with other stuff on my comp.
tholatin was being reset anyway, so thats no loss at all.

The contest will still be considered as being offical.
to the best of my knowledge, the winners are:
junk wins for 1st in wealth and 1st in networth
warlord wins for 2nd in wealth
no clue who is 2nd for networth

my last login on zoric (about 6am cst today 12/10/04) i was #1 net worth , nihilist was #1 wealth , warlord was #2 net worth , i dont remember #2 wealth

#1 Netwroth - Junk - Gets any vehicle he wants, if its not already available, i'll try to model it
#2 Networth - Warlord - Gets any vehicle that is made by a factory

#1 Wealth - ??? - no clue
#2 Wealth - ??? - no clue

i know war had 23k no clue about junk and nihilist though.
so its a toss up between those 3.

quequa told me it was warlord with around 26k then me nihilist with around 13k
im not sure who was third.. i was away from my pc for the week before it happened and missed everything....

last i knew i was in first place and warlord was coming on realy fast, i suspected he would beat me if i didnt do somthing but.. then the last few months of work on that planet went poof

oh well.. i have no problem taking second so plz make a decision zar its up to you home boy..
and i want a big mech.. remember the ones in late 0.3
the AT-ST would be nice but it might be a tough one to animate..

Use Ad-aware and AVG.
That combo has never Failed me yet. I install it on all the machines I work on.

i just downloaded avg actually.
but it don't run on Windows 2003 Sever

have ad-aware.
actually, i baught ad-aware (decided t osupport them

) so aslo have ad-watch.

it was going nuts, something like 4000 attempts to alter my registry in less then a few secs.
i just turned fof the computer to stop it all with plans of restarting in safe mode to virus scan and ad-scan.

im just woudering how war lord move from 16k net woth to 23k net worth in 4 days....the last time i was loged in i had 23k net worth and still had 3 planes to sell...
i have been playing scine the beging and dont see haw its possable to make over 7k in 4 days....something isnt right if warlord really made it to 23k net worth like he says...
last i ckeked he was over 6k behind me...junk was at 32k me at 23k near 24k..and warlord at 16k near 17k....well guess will see.

he had 23k cash, nobody said 23k networth

he had been hiding his cash in buildings to avoid the tax for having over 10k. he removed it from his buildings the day before the crash when i told him that the yearly tax gets taken on the years profits not on the cash you currently have (i.e. if you make 1000s in profits, and your in the 10% tax bracket, you pay 100s in tax because 100s is 10% of 1000s). once he removed the cash from his buildings, it added to his networth.
i saw him as #1 wealth with 23k after he removed it (so i know he had 23k)

but 1k cash equels about 1k networth. so he could have easily jumped 10-20k in networth after "gaining" an extra 10-20k cash

when:
1. i get DirectX working with the Vid stuff either by getting a new vid card (which costs money i don't have), finding proper drivers, or downloading and reformating with Windows XP
2. the site goes back under the bandwidth limit and i can download the server and buildings editor
3. i make a new bdat for zoric 9

don't be surprised if zoric 9 doesen't come this year.
