A Collison Mode where you can go under and over a bridge?

I"m setting up bridges on Emek because there's a very windy river that lies quite deep in a gorge, and players need to cross it occasionally. In Collison Mode 7, you can cross over the bridge. However, the river is still a major mode of transportation, and boats traveling up or down the river can't go under the bridge in Mode 7. I found a mode that allowed this and said it was 'accurate background model/building collision', but now you can't go over the bridges. Any solutions?

*bump*
Cmon, someone answer! I need this solution. Someone bombed my bridges, and I'm tempted to let them stay bombed because I can actually navigate rivers without them!

As far as I know... it's not possible. It ought to be but it ain't.
Mode 7 does "convex collisions" - it's designed to let you walk on top of models, like bridges.
Mode 5 is the accurate background model etc collision mode: its the best we have for "normal" collisions, bouncing off buildings, not being able to climb on top of things etc.
Both modes ought to make use of collision models, which you can attach in the model converter. But I don't think that fuctionality is working yet.
Mode 7 ought to take into account the fact that there's a hole under the bridge... but doesn't.
You'll need mit to comment on this further. All I know is, I've tried to get something similar working and I couldn't... so the choice right now is, bridges or rivers. Sorry. I'd suggest a workaround of "forges" perhaps... edit your landscape so it's possible to drive across rivers at a shallow point, or something?

I might end up just blasting the rivers an extra 20 feet wider. The bridges are in place so that each of the islands 3 sections are available without having to fly or make a sea voyage. The rivers are currently narrow enough that you have to either go reeaal slow or be a beast with your boat. Another thing I might do is have a mountain road to some remote point where all 3 rivers intersect and just build 3 teleports. In the meantime, I'll leave the blasted remains of the bridges as historical artifacts, just as there is an impact crater in the Northeast sea.

Mode 5 should work properly for bridges - I've seen someone do it.. (Mode 7 won't and never will.. its designed purely for simple convex objects).

havent u thought about making the bridge higher so that the boats can go under them?

Oh, they are. I can always make the boat models smaller, too. But the problem I was having was that a boat passing 50 ft under a bridge would suddenly shoot 200 ft up as soon as it went under the bridge. I'll try and see if Mode 5 works, Mit.
