UV mapping is a means of texture mapping a 3D model. Given a texture (JPG, GIF, etc.) the UV map says 'this portion of the image goes here' and 'that goes there.'

search around, read the instructions.

honestly, are you gonna ask people to hold your hand and guide you threw every single little detail and step involved in doing every single little thing when it comes to world owning and designing?

it would be so much faster if you searched out the info on google, or on tuwr, or in the world owners manual.

actually when it came to learning to play, i clicked buttens to see what they did, scrolled threw all the menus to see what was in them, and hit random keys to figure out what everything did ingame. same with world owning, i basicly experimented with the setitngs, setitng one then seeing whjat it did.

and when it came to modelling, i read guides and clicked buttons to see what they did.

its really not that hard at all.

I've been here 10 days longer than you Rikku and I've learned to model, UVmap, and texture. I'm telling you:

Search Google.
Find Tutorials.
Read Tutorials.
Mess Around.

yea, normally i would help people out with stuff like this....
but why should i spend my time helping somebody who can't even make an effort to try and learn things themselves?

There is no simple answer to understanding how to work this stuff. It's a struggle and you've got to make about 80% of it by yourself.
