Signatures would take up alot of bandwidth.. I guess, but other then that I don't see why we can't have them..

because...
1. then people will make pictures for signatures that make people on slow connections have a hard time reading the forum. (but this could easily be disabled)

2. even without pics, people could putalot of text in them and then you'd have to figure out what was the post and what was the signature (but text could be limited aswell :P )

but mainly...
3. how many people actually read signatures? you only need to see a persons signature once or twice to know what it is. you don't need to see it 5 times in a topic and in dozens different topics every day while reading posts. thus, it actually is somewhat pointless to have a sig on every one of your posts that people wont read anyway since they'll already know what your signature is from just reading the first post they see of yours.

How about signatures that are off by default, but can be turned on by people who don't mind them?
That way, only people who want to see signatures see the signatures, while they don't show for people who haven't chosen to view signatures.
