Worlds, got a couple questions

Post by _owner_ »

I'm getting kinda tired of playing on the other worlds... Well not really tired but I wanna see all those other worlds. Like the trailer that one guy made, the better quality thats like an actual movie, what are the names of those planets? If you could tell me, thanks!

if you mean this video: http://www.theuniversal.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5701

Mechzone picture
possibly a picture from Biplane World
possibly also Biplane world. or its the race track on zion
one of Hedgehogs Worlds (possibly Reine Blanche), or its puggys world (zyrane)
sabrada 2
kicket field on zion
pics and video from....can't remember the name. its a 4 team combat world with a very simple economy.
(newspaper spins up)
flying on biplane world
fishing on what looks like ariya

Mechzone is up, Zyrane is up, Zion is up, and Ariya is up.
Sabrada 2 was long ago, more then a year ago
Biplane world hasen't been running in over a year, maybe 2 years
Reine Blanche hasen't been up in over 2 years.

the video of biplaneworld came from one of the other videos that was made long ago (can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJMmzK2yN10 ). the pics came from wherever.

http://editthis.info/universalwiki/List ... wn_planets gives the names of world currently in the Galaxy and those that are no more.

Remember that worlds are created by individuals who run them off their personal computers. Many of which are Unregistered worlds which gives people a chance to tinker and toy with the world client to see if they are up to the challange before they register their world. Upside is that a lot of worlds are started, downside is that people come to understand how difficult it is to make "real" what they have in mind.

Take T'muiria - that was my old world, It was a process of months and ultimately I decided to scrap it because my first attempt at world creation was, how shall I put this, 'under par'. I borrowed and retexed many models, I messed up on the Bdat and economy, Then while I was away from the game I suddenly picked up modeling skill and had a flood of ideas which I am trying to put together on Oraen.

I'm presently working on a second, better world: Oraen which is located out there somewhere outside of federation space. If I can get what I'm wanting to achive and once I get the second computer up and running (Hopefully this month) I will most likely register Oraen.

Of course the game is under development, meaning there is more additions and fixes and what not being done all the time. All of that is being done in "spare-time" by alcoholics, er, I mean whiskey drinkers ;) .

We can safely assume that at some point in future the world client and world editing modes will be easier and enough models and what not will be flooding the sites to where more people will be able to run worlds.

Right now I'm having to make nearly all of my models (I am trying to make them to where their textures are simple enough and readily modified by anyone with MS paint or other simple image program), blend and tweak textures, tweak and paint my greyscale map, add on and modify the Bdat for Oraen. Although I have spent a good deal of the past month on all of that I have a handful of buildings and still haven't gotten the terrain just so.

These are only a few of the things that world builders go through. If you try to build a world you will find just how time consuming it really is.

You really know your worlds zar...but you missed a few...

The zyrane-like world is actually chikenworld (my world)...but you were close...
the video clips was taken on Battlezone...(and biplaneworld as you correctly identified)
and the fishing was also on chikenworld...

Aren't Tractorzone, Battlezone and Mechzone different names for the same world?

Completely different.

Well, I don't know what Tractorzone is, there's a Tractorbattle I know of though.

Battlezone is the four teams world, hasn't been up for a long time but Drellis was running a modification of it a wee bit.

Mechzone is the team v. team mech battle thingo, just mechs fighting, no economy.
