first of all, since this is my first post here, hello world.
second, i have been spending some of my free time to design some new ui concept. in the attachment below you can find something i've been working on, which is mostly of the interface you'll be able to see while docked at station. also, there's a one thing you'll be probably seeing in space - view pane.
some detailed description is in the file itself.
more details on this soon to come!
comments and feedbacks please!

hello first poster :]
theres some really nice bits in that UI stuff.. i like the iconography particularly.
i'll reply properly soon on that email thread that fooli cc'd me on.. there is generally a case that UI stuff needs a fair bit of involvement from me which im not often able to provide.. but the ideal situation is when you can take existing images used in game and replace em directly with something that looks better. In the case of the buttons & icons shown there for the space station, thats not far off. Would be worth digging around in the game's existing .bmps and files in the Clients/Data/Textures folder (etc).. if you can provide improved versions of those without needing code changes then i'll be happy and honoured to include em.
will reply more in a bit.. :]

nice, green.
to expand on what mit was talking about, i took your idea of a layout, and changed the button layout in the space station. I may do more soon, im just not REAL good with creating from scratch, i can cut and paste and do basic altercations pretty decent. This actually came out looking pretty smooth for a 5 minute jobber....
put that in the clients/data/space/commsicons/ and overrite with this file. it changes the current space station icons to the ones that you created.
all kinds of textures, bar, world side icons, starport interiors etc are handled with clientside files for the graphics.
looking forward to more cleaning up visually XD
o yea its missing lounge beacuse it wasnt on the icon bar and i didnt feel like doing more than copying and pasting what was already there

ok so imageshack converts it to .png.. heres an alternate link for the bmp.
(dont laugh at the free crappy file host, it was just a quickie
)

you dont have to register... download link is at the bottom middle and then gotta enter one of those graphical verification letter things

I should probably explain... greent got in touch with us and offered to have a go at improving some graphic elements in the game. The image there is a kind of "concept" and we may see some more developed stuff in the near future. He may also be kind enough to contribute some 3d content, too.
Greent is part of the team that worked on
Sodoma Lite. His under construction portfolio site is

It's early days yet but who knows :)

here's replacement for stationicons. overwrite (or keep your original backup) file in clients/data/space/commsicons/stationicons2.bmp with this one. features some bigger icons and real size (not rescaled) buttons in original concept.

thanks for feedback and have fun!

If you unpack the rar file and overwrite the existing icons, as per the instructions, you can see those icons while docked in a space station (back up your old ones just in case :). They look pretty funky actually.

Damn, thanks
I'll try that right away
EDIT:
Woah, looks awesome in the game.
What about the lounge button by the way, will that be in the game in the future?
