Are the chat servers down?

My chat server doesn't seem to kick in when I log into the game. Is there server down or is it just me?

If the guild channel tab doesn't pop up...the chat server is down.

I know, but before my chat server wouldn't always start up when other people's would. I was just wondering if it was happening for any one else. And mine has been down for like 4 weeks.

Chat server is indeed down. I can't think of a reason why it'd ever work for one person and not for another, unless it's just general internet weirdness. All "your chat server" does is communicate with a dedicated chat server machine, hosted by Magic. I've let him know, but we'll need to wait for him to get back home (or whatever) so he can fix the problem. I used to have remote access to that machine but owing to various complicated networking issues (apparently), I no longer do... so we'll have to wait I'm afraid.

By the way, I don't think the chat server has anything to do with private chat in space - that's p2p, so you can still talk that way if you like.

At the time of writing, my connection to the chat server appeared to work perfectly fine. However no one else was online at the time of testing.

I tried connecting to the server for he first time and I get a login incorrect with someone's user name. I assume that it's truly down.
