Cargo ship, Police Ship, Pirate Ship...

I have L8 (wow a whole 8 parsecs) on my little cargo "run-about" ship.

If I do buy a police ship or a pirate ship will I still be able to carry cargo?

If there is a guide to ships and abilities I haven't found it.

I apologize if this is a noob type question.

http://editthis.info/universalwiki/Space_Ships ....This should help a lot as it is the only guide with pics that I know about. Yes you will be able to hold cargo with other ships.
