I'm not sure what you mean but this game is not really in the category of beta testing or completed. It is always having new additions and updates. You would put ideas for the Universal in the "Feature Requests" forum.

P.S. I would suggest punctuation and a dictionary.

as i understand it, this game is and will always be in beta.

since to be completed means just that, completed. mit has no plans to stop adding new stuff to the game thus it wont really ever be completed.

I would assume that that would be appreciated since I have no doubt that more players would eventually want to register worlds and donate whiskey (money) and C programming ability which would ultimately lead to a better Universe. More space battles, more worlds with variations – I bet there would be more models, more texture files brought together.

That is the upside, the downside (yes there is one) is that humans tend to mess things up – I play other “free” (and not so free) games which started off like this and as the population increased the more cheaters hackers, spammers, blah have showed up to, in essence, ruin game play.

Feature Requests Forum is presently Locked. Mit (or so it would appear by the message) is on vacation. However you can read through the posts there already, note what ideas are similar to yours and compose a document with fresh ideas that you can copy and paste from as soon as that forum is open.

Which brings me to your other post in this thread:

We live in a day and age where we no longer need to know proper grammar or how to spell perfectly. Assuming you have Windows, you can open up Microsoft Word, a blank document – save it in your My Documents Folder as “Draft” any time you want to post something use that to write out your “draft”. Hit spell check and “correct” mistakes. Its not a bad thing and nothing to be ashamed of.

I do use the Word document for several reasons:

1. My eyesight is middle aged, thus I can set my document on a font size of 12 to see what I am writing.

2. I have arthritis in my fingers to where I feel like I am typing with my toes – that leads to a lot of typos.

3. I like to save a lot of my posts and other folks posts, for instance I have a document dedicated to World Creation and another to Universe Ship Playing.

4. I am not perfect, sometimes my personal programming goes worng

As discussed elsewhere on the forum.... we don't have any trouble getting large numbers of new players when we want to. The trouble is getting them to stay :) We quadrupled the playerbase last time we did any PR, and I suspect it'd be easy enough to do so again. However, to make them stay we need time to fix bugs, a greater variety of worlds, and a lot more resource to bring the look/feel up to the standard where eye candy idiots won't get put off in the first 30 seconds. Anyway, by all means let people know about it. But it might be an idea to remind them we're still in beta at the same time (on that front, the official line is "we're in open beta").

I was chatting to a couple of new players the other day who found the game on a Spore-related website, which was truly bizarre :)

PS - and, hmm... DvdGStwrt...middle aged eyesight... arthritic fingers - must be all that guitar playing :)
