the universal msn ring
hey people,
as the name suggests, i would like to start a the universal msn messenger ring.this means instead of posting on the forum and waiting for hours -even days- for someone to reply, we can talk instantly, all at the same time. and, if the ring is big enough there will probably be someone online at any 1 time.
the reason of this idea came about when i was playing on sabrada, the econ was so difficult that it, using the forums, took me ages to figure out.and then i thought wait a minute why isnt there someway of instant hlp
if you are interested in joining the universal msn messenger ring, then pls email me at joshua.oddi@hotmail.com. if you would like to download msn messenger go to http://messenger.msn.com/xp/downloadDefault.aspx
thanks,
dramaking444

Weird. Well, not that weird, but... there's an entire in-game chat system, including private chat channels, designed for just that purpose. Good luck anyway though

yess, i know, im not thick y'know.
but if you havnt noticed, there are over 300 galaxys each one with a different comms channel.
and also, with msn we can host the universal meetings.furthermore, not all people online are on the universal and it is agood way to make friends.

There's one galaxy. There are many star systems, true. Each one has its own system-wide chat. In each system are worlds, each of which has its own public chat. These chats are separate, fair enough. But there's a private, galaxy-wide chat system with which you can talk to anyone anywhere in the game by setting up chat channels just like you'd do with IRC or whatever. That's all I'm saying.
Obviously with MSN you can talk to people wherever they are.. I suppose you might be able to get people at work, or school or whatever, to chat about game stuff that way, even if they aren't playing. Just seems a bit unlikely to me, is all.
/edit: few more thoughts:
- It might be useful if you could specify what it was that you found difficult to understand, or difficult to find out about... there's a whole help system that world owners ought to use to explain stuff like economy specifics. Generally they don't use it but if you could share your perspective as a new player it might help others if the owner incorporates it into the help files.
- there's an entire web-based guide for this stuff too, which ought to be more complete than it is.
- there's a whole website dedicated to sabrada already that you may not have seen... http://www.sabrada.com. You might find useful info there. I'd still rather see it in the help files though :)
However I still wish you luck. If you wanna use MSN that's great. It's just that part of the point of this game is the community that exists in the game universe... something like you're suggesting is really part of what the game's about. Or should be. And that's where I'm coming from :)

after a while i did find sabradas website but thats not the point. th point is that help information is so difficult to get to. there are very few guides, the world owners manual are usually not very detailed and if you are a n00b like i once was it is a very hard game to just pick up and play!!!

What he is trying to say...I was new to forums too and had no clue why every1 was telling me to use edit, well he saying you should make double posts, but edit your last post. For some reason people don't like double posts because it takes up too much room and pushes the topic back up top.VDZ wrote:You see that shiny "Edit" button right next to the quote button? Use it.

if you want to try one of the ingame chat channels; ie you can talk to people no matter what world they are on or start system they are in... try the openbeta channel...
type ?setchat openbeta in your client
that joins you to the channel to talk in that channel type
;{your message}
if you want to create your own channel...
type ?setchat {channel name}
if you want to have multiple channels type
?setchat {channel one},{channel two};{channel three} etc.. upto 6 channels at any time
to talk in multiple channels
;{your message} = channel 1
;2; {your message} = Channel 2
;3; {your message} = Channel 3
;4; {your message} = Channel 4
;5; {your message} = Channel 5
;6; {your message} = Channel 6
if you want to see who is in the chat channels you belong to type
?chat
hope that helps

The point you're missing is that the idea is to do it in-game... and that actually what you really seem to be asking for - quite justifiably - is better in-game help. The reason we're going on so much (well I am anyway) is that it doesn't help us, long-term, to take help issues outside the game, even if something like an MSN ring would work in that way. It's much more helpful to the development team to highlight a problem we can fix (ie, "in-game help still sucks") than try to find an outside-of-game solution.

with the msn ring, you could have contact with many more players then the in-game chat offers. but...msn isen't the best thing out thier. if you get trillion you can chat to yim, aim, icq, and msn with one program and one contact list.
last night when i was in-game, thier was only 5 different players on the chat. overall, i don't think i've seen more then 10 players among the channels yet.
on trillon, thiers usually 25+ players online between aim, msn, icq, and yim
get an instant messenger ring (or just trade others contact names) and you can chat with 25+ people anytime instead of the few in-game players.
