Auto Terrain 3 not allowing Grass

I've tried to use defgrass.bmp for the texture but everytime I check it both in game and out it's not working. The Server just shows it as some symbols and in game it uses the previous texture wether it be Sand, Snow and Rock. Is this working the way it suppose to be?

Erm... that's a very confusing description. Are you saying there's a problem with the bitmap file itself? Or that you can't assign the grass texture to the third auto-gen texture slot? Or that autogen mode 3 isn't working (which wouldn't be surprising: as far as I know that setting is 0, 1 or 2).

I can use any texture like Snow, Rock, and Sand but when I try to use grass in that one where it would say defgrass.bmp i get " 8|| " and when it(Your World app) restarts it reverts to the previous setting(in this case defsnow.bmp)

So you're saying that you've tried to assign the grass texture to "Auto-terrain 3" in the server, but instead of showing the name of the file it just shows garbage (and doesn't save it, reverting to the previous one). And in-game it doesn't work either?

Sounds like some sort of file problem, somewhere... corrupted settings file, perhaps. Have you checked the grass texture itself in a paint prog?

I'm at a loss as to what's going on really.

unless each layer of terrain has a different directory, Grass is working fine as I can see it on another layer as I'm zooming around my planet.....other grass types work(which I used from the worlds in the \client directory).
