Have you set your external IP address in serverconfig.txt? You might need a line like

EXTERNALIP=(your.external.ip.address)

Try that, save the file, then launch your world and try landing on it. If you've recently tried getting your world online using a different IP address (it often defaults to your internal one) it'll take a few minutes for the galaxy to catch up with the new one, so be patient.

If that doesn't work... hmm. Does your friend see the world as online or offline?

Makes no difference where you live. Unless you specify your ip address in the serverconfig file, your world most likely won't be visible to anyone but yourself.

What's the world called? I'll look into it now..

the host machine on a local network? Might need some set up done on the router if you have one... (See various other threads on that subject, if appropriate..)

(EXTERNALIP is almost never required .. (unless you the world happens to be on the same LAN as the galaxy...))
