Uhm...you can trade in space,to get money for a faster ship.
Or you could just stay as you are, don't trade and use that infimp to go places.
Your choice.

It's a slow process to begin with, but keep at it! Find a good route and trade foodstuffs and water then build up. It's very much a case of common sense and if you ever used to play any of the old space trade games then this is the same idea.

I never thought I was going to get anywhere but I'm rolling in the creds now.

I found going between Zyrane and Planitia with foodstuffs was a good start. Too fragging ages to get the credits up but I got myself an inf-imp drive and I'm now trading in computers etc.

It can be done, you just have to be patient. I was getting so frustrated at how slow it took me, but I was determined especially when you see the top most richest traders proving that they managed it.

I tend to run the game in a window, set my ship on course and get on with other things. Just have to keep an eye out for those that choose to shoot everyone they can catch.

for me.. it was like... .6cr every .... [how long it takes for prices to recover] so... it really ain't worth it.... assuming it can take 30 minutes or hours to recover.

trading can go well if you find the right route. Alphawoolfe has right idea - stick at it and upgrade your ship as and when you can.

I made 9000 in less than a week!

Prior to recent changes (darn that dirty ape! [mit]) creds were easy to come by. A load of computers from planitia to imperial could bring around 800 creds. Thanks to my x-figher (which until now could hold the standard 40 tons) could make the trip in under seven minutes (including the system jump and a restart of my client which brought me up to 5000 clicks closer to the planet). The only real limiting factor was that you had to wait several hours before the prices restablized. Someone ought to take away that monkey's tobacco...suffering from withdrawl would sure teach him a lesson. :)
