If you go into small mode while using it cancels out.

If you bump into a planet, it stops too.
Alot of things screw it up.

if you do not let the animation finish when falling out of sub space and target another planet it will activate the drive again, wasting fuel. however the small mode bug would accualy help this, youll still lose your fuel.
