The picture says it all.
As you may be able to notice, the graphics are shite. If [Insert current 2D expert] could whip up some fancy lookin' stuff for the land and a new tractor, that'd be grand.
If anyone wants to come up with some level designs, please post and I'll mail over a copy of the bitmap for the land. At the moment, until this bugger begins reading from files, it's gonna be easier to just send me a bmp of what u want the level to look like.
Levels must be:
8 squares (32x32 squares on land tex) down by (up to) 150 squares across.
Todo:
Scrolling
Reading from files
Level Editor
Enemies
..And prolly much more.
Enjoy, chaps

well...this sucks VERY VERY VERY much.
I was gonna post some mario brothers 1 level maps for you to use in the game, so i went searching on google for them.
3rd site in the list said all kinds of mario brothers stuff in the description, so i went to it.
ends up being a MOTHER FECKING dirtyspammer SITE WITH TONS OF GOD DAMNED FREAKING TROJENS THAT AUTO LOAD AND FECKING AUTO DOWNLOAD. they corrupt my damn os so it wont boot, think it even did something to the cmos that prevented me from useing any bootable win2k cd's because each one had the same exact error, and the error would only go away after i cleared the cmos, but they still woulden't work.
so ended up having to do a full reformat with win3k.

Ok, mattizme, why don't you use a freely available tileset? there are tons online for land etc, and free to use, like I said. the tileset you have is...crap, simply put.
EDIT:
Ok, you're using kinda big tilesets too, can you change that?

Please learn from this - leave Internet Explorer alone
Firefox, Lynx, even Mozilla, the tools are there. The only one to blame what that happens, is the user.
On a side note of course, if you read the description in google, before clicking, you would have known it was a dirtyspammer site by the atrocious broken english, and avoided it.
Oh, and by the way, rip a copy of Norton Ghost please. Save any of this 'reinstall' nonsense.

I can probably help with some of the graphics, they seem simple enough, and making them tile seamlessly isn't that much of a problem. What I would need however is some idea of how a tileset would be arranged for use, and what tiles would be needed aside from your basic subsurface dirt, surface, tractor, obstacles and such. Since you seem to be using a transparency, I would also need to some specifics on that.

This is the current tileset being used:
http://www.mattkemp.co.uk/Stuff/Land.bmp
IT's really quite basic, but it does the job for the moment..
The transparency is pure blue (0,0,255) and the black tile in the corner is used for some bits and pieces in the game and so can't really be changed.
Nigel, if it's nice and big I can get a decent amount of detail on it - plus, it is always squashed when it goes into the arcade, therefore lowering the size anyway.

Made one, don't know how it will look when made small, it's also a bit more complex than the current one. It breaks the border between ground and sky into 2 seperate tiles, if I had some sort of website, or image hosting that didn't require payment or extensive ads, I could post, but since I don't, I'm kinda stuck.

Mail it to me - I think my email is listed somewhere on le Forum :]
The only real requirements for the landscape are that the tiles are 32x32, the rest can be handles by the game with minor changes.

Sometimes, I think it's better to use free tilsets than make your own, not saying yours arn't good, but you might find some somewhere you like, I tried making my own tilsets before, but I prefere pre-made ones for making 2d games , there are some really nice ones too if you look hard enough

Why it's easier to do some things yourself, or get someone to do it for you.

Considering the amount of art talent on these forums, id rather stick out a plea of help to see if anyone can improve on my efforts than muck about for hours on end with copyrights and free stuff
