system 462

2 unknown planets, both listed as trading in the trade report, but one (unknown 1402, small mining colony) innaccesible on the map - can't click on it to mark as a destination point for the autopilot. dunno yet if this is happening in other unnamed systems

Addition: seems to happen when a planet is too close to the edge of a particular system

I came across that in a system too though might have been the same one.
As a temporary fix, what you could do is lock onto the other planet, then swing your ship around till you see the other.
AH! The hazards of deep space exploration!

deeps space is great - but i keep losing my way on routes I've already done a couple of times (put it down to female navigation skills if you must :( )

what would be really useful would be some kind of navigational input to the autopilot, so that when traveling in deep space the shortest/easiest would be highlighted on the gal map, but only using systems that had been previously visited.

no doubt impossible to code, but no harm in asking :)

Thanks for all the space work Mit - its fun out here!!

To which I said the centre of the universe was M-1

I stand corrected, hadn't noticed M-0 till just now. On my way to investigate....

deep space trade is definately more of a challenge :)

not everywhere is reachable - it depends where you start from - buying in the main system, and then heading out, or infimping to atwa, only a relativey small selection of planets are available. Tho there is some profit to be made here - it can be difficult to find a full cargo without wasting precious fuel resources - uriduim is scarce, but available if you know where to look.

biggest problem is cargo loads - the decent profits are hard to get because there simply aren't enough of certain items in this region of space - eg: only one system i have found selling construction items, with a limit of 9 in stock in the whole system. when it takes 9 or 10 stardrive jumps to sell the stuff, it hardly seems worthwhile - tho the exploration has been fun.

because of the much more varied spread of products, gaining a mixed load isn't too easy - finding places close enough to sell a mixed cargo to warrant the effort is almost mpossible.

would be very handy if a ship's add-on included an additional fuel hold - especially in long distance galactic trading - Uridium is harder to find in mega-deep space, so the more that can be carried the better :)

also, altho there are plenty of planets in deep space which buy both Science Equipment & Military Hardware' there is nowhere that sells either - and between chezz & I we have visited just about every tradeable planet in the Galaxy, mad explorers that we are :D

On a similar note, would there be any chance of re-routing the power flow via the geospacial coupler through the propulsion unit. This would increase speed at the expence of Uridium.

i.e. Any chance we could buy a Uridium powered turbo boost?

It is a dark time. Once peaceful traders are arming themselves for the battle ahead. Tales of the end of the universe as we know it are rife. Stations that once traded goods have vanished while others offer fuel at hugely inflated prices. Trade routes come & go like the stellar winds. What does the future hold?

(Seriously though, why has the price or Uridium leapt up on the more remote planets & how do you use the coutermeasures? And another thing, why has my ship turned inside out!?!?

Yes they do. Have you tried X-11 or Iridis?

(*whacks Mit with the presidential fish*)

In system 139 there planets that on the trade report are listed as selling/buying item. I happened to see a moderately profitable route between a planet in that system and a planet in a nearest system. Unfortunatly it was not until I bought a load of the cargo (rare metal) and hauled it back to m-139 that I realized there is no space station to sell it to. So currently I'm floating in uncharted space with a load of rare metal (worth 7000 cr. which is 90%+ of my availible cash) and no way to sell my cargo and get back to the main systems (I can't even sell it back to the planet I bought it from because its not buying).

why has the price or Uridium leapt up on the more remote planets

The price for 'staple' items like uridium has been made to increase proportional to the distance of the system from the homeworlds, as a reflection of the costs in transporting the stuff from production planets... Possibly a lil too severe at the mo, setting may be adjusted..
how do you use the coutermeasures?

When an incoming missile launch is detected, a popup appears on the right side of the screen, with buttons available to launch any countermeasures you have. Click the button once at least a second before the missile hits and it launches the ecm, which - providing it is of the correct type - destroys the missile.
And another thing, why has my ship turned inside out!?!?
Oops.. :] Nother lil patch soon to fix that.

Fhko... mm.. can you give me a few more details about the planet you were trading to? (What planet type was it?) According to what i see, 139 doesnt trade rare metals anywhere atm and its how it should be.. Not sure if this might be something that occured before i changed some gal settings or not. If you have any further problems like that, recording the planet type (e.g. 'Luddite colony' etc), number, star system number, item being traded, price you saw offered etc would be handy. Will look into the general behaviour of the gal econ on my mirror today.. i do suspect it might be evolving to somewhere a bit strange :)

Info regarding my current situation:

Time problem first arose: about 5 to 10 minutes prior to previous post
System identification: m-139
Planet without station: Unknown 418 or 419 (can't tell which one the the trade report is pointing to, but they both lack a station)
Planet Type: Lifeless
Cargo Type: Rare Metal
Listed Buy price: 384.7 cr.
Planet where Cargo was Purchased: Unknown 1525
Sell price: 379.9 cr
Quantity Purchased: 20
Planet Type: Large Mining Colony
System in which it is contain: m-503

Can't think of anything else to put....Fooli is in m-139 although he's not responding to any of my messages (or that missile I shot him with)

Thanks Mit. Just wanted to know about counter measures BEFORE someone shot at me. :)

As for Uridium, will be putting my exploring on hold till the price drops a bit!

OH, and fhko, we might be able to help you. Do you have Uridium? And what level of Stardrive? Assume it's a Lvl 40? If so, get into the game & we'll tell you where to sell your cargo. Wait in M-139, we'll be there soon...

Don't you think if I had a lv 40 stardrive I would of found a place to sell my cargo on my own? Instead I have a lv 24, which means I can't escape the cluster of five star systems I've already explored.
