Correction: I am still around, I'm just not going to spend the time to model anything at the moment.
Were you aware I had already made a typhoon model?

Nope.
I'd love it to wider, and not so tall. Kinda looks like a tornado. But I might be able to fix that, if you share.
how about the Black Pearl or Flying Dutchman?
lol zar, that is a future, very future project for us. Maintaining a low poly count on a standard ship is hard enough, so imagine with one of those beautys.
Again...very future.

Modeling and texturing projects there aswell.

I was just looking at the images of it online and I came to the sudden realization that the Black Pearl is actually one really ugly ship. I don't think it's worth the modeling time.

But that's just my opinion.

I've been wanting to create something like this for awhile, but I never got around to it. I think I might try similar stuff over the next hour or so.
Update: Like the new avatar or should I return to the old one?
Update2: Or would this be an even better one?
Update3: Or even this?
Update4:

*sigh*
All that work and you pick the simplest one of the bunch as your favorite. I thought the 'Building a universe' one would surely get comments. (Although I should really probably darken the text on that one).
I wish I had a faster way to make a set of evenly spaced still screenshots. That fly-by of phong took a really long time. And I had to use a video recording of the landing sequence to get it to work.

Keep in mind I can (and have) make bigger, longer and/or better quality ones if this is something we want to use for advertising or what not. I was making them small so they were readily deployable as forum avatars (130x90 and less than 59kb).
If someone has a good idea for a fairly complicated one I'm all ears. Although keep in mind I'm terrible at 2D graphics so it can't involve a lot of drawing.
At the current size I can get about 20 to 25 frames without exceed the avatar limit to give you a reference on size.

You cant really read the writing on the second one as the yellow writing is too bright.

(I always love using the link Image shack tells you not to use in forums.)
Anyway, I made a simple little stone shack based off of one in Battlefield 2. It's a pretty non-descript building so it will make a good addition as a house, meth-lab, ghetto, etc. I think I'm starting to understand the process by which I can make my textures a bit more realistic.
I hope you enjoy it.

For those of you who care about what I'm up to...I'm looking into a switch toward blender (instead of gmax) as my primary 3d modeling software. With any luck it will help my put out some higher quality models.
