0.48.1 beta update

Ok well since i posted that, the only problem ive encountered is the *recycle and then continue game... still gives me the white screen.. apprx 30 seconds.. then back to 'start game' screen, avatar pick screen is 90 degrees rotated clockwise, then goes to a space station in TC... i launch, shows launch cutscene, white again.

f12 out, restart, continue game... white screen 80% of the time... f12 before the start screen comes back, go back in, all is good. havnt had the .exe appear more than once anymore, but will keep an eye out.... my server hasnt dropped me yet from my own planet. thinking it may be when that happs.

ive spent a few minutes in sab and republic, a lil in battlezone..... havnt had the fps problem come back yet... .profile has all 0-2ms , everye once in a great while a random one flashes yellow for 1/10th of a sec. then back to red.

ill do some playing around with diff combos of closing out and launching and recycling and see what else i can wring out.


was specific enough to be of help? :wink:

o btw if the trigger bldgs had 'only when owner is online', would be sweet... or have the trigger bldgs be able to act as retail .. it can make but u cant add, remove, sell, or control invest.... maybe even add lessons available so the 'trigger' building type can act as any type of building and utilize trigger building features

yeh, quite likely.. the other thread may still be trying to communicate with the server - itd get all confused bout there being 2 of ya.

so.. looks like it all stems from that one issue of white screening, which causes the thread not to be killed, and subsequent fps loss and connection problems... I was gonna say it was odd that i can't replicate it, but just this moment it struck me that its probably different for me coz my local world is magrathea and thats got an allocated spot in the gal. Presuming that theory is right i should be able to get a fix sorted out for that soon.

I'll have a look at all your various world requests during the week.. should be able to get a few of those knocked off the list for ya.

i have noticed multiple threads like that happening when the client crashes when going from small to big. hasen't happened to me yet in this version though.

I like the new building process 11 option.... when constructing buildings, however, it sais 'under construction' 2 times in the box, u can still hit construct building, the building construction screen where build items are selected are blank, however if u hit end, it will bring up the screen to set how many units to add to bldg, and the name is proper ( *changeitemname building item 1, new item name gets it done).

maybe another process.... item1, item 1+2, item 2+3, item 3+4, tech progression would be useful as well

d'oh! all buildings say 130 build items needed to build all buildings on this setting... regardless of what my bdat says.

maybe the server update will fix this? (im still on .48.0 server)

k, the threads not being cleaned up properly, and the white out in space when you recycle your local world are both fixed now, as is the offset radar.

Just gotta tidy up those last few text screens then 48.1 is ready for the full release - unless anyones got anything else vital they want fixing first?
