Amazing or not, I'm done messing with it for now. I have so much other stuff I need to be doing.

Knight

Now that that is finally out of the way, does anyone else have any requests you would like to make?

Since I'm still going to be very busy, it would be better if they were fairly simple things. Something that everyone else could also make use of. Things like a beer keg, a palm tree, a solar panel, etc. Things that will take a few hours of intense modeling instead of a few weeks.

I think that would be better for everyone. :)

i know im not "anyone else" lol but a simple asian style building would be rad and should be a breeze after the last thing you pulled off. nothing too fancy just a box with one of those curved pointy rooves.

I think I can do a bit of Asian architecture. Did you want it to be an open shelter like is shown in the image or a closed box as you described?

Oh, if it wasn't already obvious, the shield swipe animation for the knight is under Fire Weapon Model 8. I wasn't sure what to put it under.

Zar, I'm not sure what your problem is, but I'm confident in saying: you need help! :)

Alrighty. I'll try to set some time aside this weekend to put together a Asian style building.

Anyone have a request?

holy cr*p that pagoda jank awesome looking. ok i have ONE more request then i promise ill shut up LOL.

on xebec i have a building called "magma" its a source building found on my volcano. i have it represented by a high damage surface tile and its set with an invisible building. I was hoping you could help me out with a proper model.

I need something like an animated fountain (no building, just plumes of hot ash, or lava which spit from a point in the ground). something i could texture to look like my magma. ideally would have a fire and smoke effect added. it would make my volcano so awesome because i have plenty of these buildings set throughout the volcano area. (players literally have to jump over them, receiving some damage to complete a 'quest')

you rule, i owe you forever.

I'm going to have to assume that "jank" means you like it...

-----

Awhile back I experimented a little bit with an animation in gmax for water running over a waterfall. It was fairly low-poly, but the effect was moderately convincing.

I might be able apply a similar animation type to some lava looking stuff on the side of an obsidian looking rock (that's nearly black) and then set the model so that it appears to glow. Making the lava look gooey and very hot.

Anyway my point is that I might be capable of creating a real working volcano of sorts. However, no flying rocks I'm afraid.

cool whatever you think could work.. if you have that waterfall still lying around id be interested in checking it out, it would be used on my planet too.

yes the pagoda jank rules. many compliments. youre an artist, seriously.

the knight is bad*ss too, i looked at it in the model convertor today. cant wait to make some rad textures for it, and see it in action on my planet.

The waterfall thing was just a test of a concept. Not an actual model.
Image

Side note: I would have included move attack animations on the knight, but due to the headlessness problem (i.e. a model can't go outside a certain physical distance from the origin), the slicing animation I made the sword get broken in half during part of the animation upon leaving gmax. I could possibly make a new stabbing animation that would avoid this, but it would make the file size bigger aswell. (Although, frankly, just breathing on your computer seems to make the file size bigger)

----------

random Artist rant:

For me, the term artist has a bad connotation. Since I get the impression most 'artists' are drug addicts who don't have the backbone to sober up and do a real job. Instead they get high and paint pretty pictures that are supposedly part of some great enlightenment about how everyone else is social zombie or something.

I prefer the term modeler. It's much more accurate since I can't actually draw, but do have a relatively high visual-spatial sense (and I've never been high/drunk in my life). Not that I really care. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, nicht wahr (right)?

I will never probably use these but an idea for you;

Temples, varying shapes and sizes, This maybe?

Airport Structures with Air Traffic Control, Hangers etc.

Large multi-floored structures which could be used for renting on worlds or something? You could have tall flats like these (Those are a lot bigger than they look. Or even these; Pic 1, Pic 2, Pic 3.

I can give you some more suggestions if you would like.
