Hi, I will be adding downloads like models and the latest release (full, not beta) on my site, updated regularly, so the current version 0.1.35 will be put up. Not 0.1.35b, and all the models I have as well as the ones here.
I also request permission to use terms, and link to this site, possibly copy and paste a few guides on the forum, I have linked to you in the Credits section of This Site (my super reference site thingy)
Thanks,
10

10, in answer to your questions it would be preferable if NO content was taken from the universal site. A great deal of time and effort has gone into create this site in a way which is easily updatable and current.
By giving people access to duplicate parts of the site we undermine the very principles we built up in the first place and place ourself at risk of having incorrect information being found on a fan site as opposed to the official site.
For the purpose of models you would specifically need to speek to Fooli for models and Hedgehog for textures before reproducing/distrubuting their work
The client it may be at some point in the not too far future mit will want to have mirrored sites for download but at this time we would like to keep the downloads in a singular place.
For guides you would need to speak to the individual authors and get there permisission to display their work (Toms guide is the only non-staff guide on the universal site at this time )
It is hoped that we will have downloadable content specifically for use on external sites ... however in the meantime all work on your site will have to be your own
as a side note this is the positional statement for all 'Fan' sites... We have no objections to Users hyperlinking to our pages as long as the actual content is not displayed within their own site

you'll get much more joy out of a site by making it all yourself.
plus when people marvel at your site, it will be your stuff thier marveling at, not others stuff that your just displaying.
hence why all the info on my site is stuff i've typed.
also why everytime i display guides/models/pics not mine, i display the owners name right below it. so that viewers will know exactly what isen't mine and will know who to give compliments/complaints to.

Huh? Waitwaitwaitwait...10dollars wrote: I took yours and edited for rapid deployment, I'm on my thousand'th word on my own guides, I'll speak to hedge and fooli l8er, for now I'll provide a link.
thanks for replying
Exuse me for asking, but what are you saying?I took yours and edited for rapid deployment
Did you just hear what zaroba and Magicfinger said?
(Again,I know it's none of my business but I'm just curious)
lol. rapid redeployment.
thier isen't exactly a time limit to getting a site ready.
i worked on atractorguide for a month before even registering the domain. heck, i diden't even tell anybody about the site before its actual opening/public announcement. releaseing a site before its actually done is nothing but asking its visitors to take the time to visit again in the hopes that you'll have it more finished then. in otherwords, why release a site with temporary stolen stuff when your working on good stuff anyway?
besides, i don't see how you can call it edited when all you did is convert the html source to mambo code so it would work on your site. i don't really see anything different except for the lack of line returns in a few places. heck, even the pics link to the ones hosted on my site, using my bandwidth

what do hits and search engines have to do with it?
i'm only listed in search engines because i have a program that submits sites to 1000 search engines worldwide and i used it a few months ago on my site. hits mostly come from players here. i honestly don't think i get any hits at all from search engines because i doubt players here search google etc for info on the game. mainly because this game has a small community where everybody knows everybody and can easily ask questions via in-game chat.
i'm sure your site will end up in search engines too just from the spiders they have crawling the net.
besides that, once i get the program again, i'll submit your site if you want.
you've gotta have it mostly done though, along with accurate meta tags, titles, etc. they can only be submited once a month without risk of getting the site banned. and without proper meta tags, titles, working links, etc, it wont get a good rating anyway, if they even accept the site.

*gets smacked in the face by some peanuts*
You don't even need to submit the site nowadays - one of the sites I run got onto google somehow, and I've recieved 682 hits in November alone from Googlebot (MSNBot holds the record with 6875 in November so far - craazy MSN).
Personally, 'yay fan sites', as all they can do is advertise the game - but judging by past experience and observations, one of 'em will get bored with the game, get in a big argument, storm off, maybe threaten with viruses, close down their fan site, and then reappear in a few months with a new name and a new site - repeat ad nauseam.
Not mentioning any names.
