ehhh, Sabrada and Planitia. Uncertain downtime

Post by Jemrada »

I was hoping to put Sabrada back up tomorrow but my computers motherboard went wacko on me today. I had been out of town for the last four days and when I got home today I decided to reboot my computer. Once I rebooted, I got this crazy error at the starup screen and there is no way for me to get around it. I can't even get to the CMOS. I have narrowed it down to the motherboard though. I have another motherboard, but all my tools are in storage at the moment and it is late. So tomorrow I will get them and try to install my new motherboard.

If I could access my files I would put the two worlds on my laptop, but as you know I am unable to access the harddrive. So untill I get this fixed they will not be accessable.

*side note* Does anybody know if there will be any problems if I just swap a mother board. I thought I would just swap the motherboards and when I boot up the first time that it would reconfigure itself with the new motherboard or will I need to reinstall windows to get the new motherboard to work correctly.

tools? bah. all i ever use is a single screwdriver when working on my pc's :P

it should be perfectly fine if you swap the mobo with another. first boot up will have the OS finding all the new devices on the new motherboard, installing them, and probably needing reboots for the graphical and audio stuff. but after that, it should be fine.

Well I dont even have a screwdriver in the house at the moment. We had moved all my stuff out for our new baby, who was do two weeks ago, but we lost him  about a month and a half ago and I havn't moved everything back in yet.

If it is that simple it should be back online tomorrow night. 8)

Jem, that sucks, big time. I'm impressed you're even *thinking* about the game right now. Good luck getting the world back up and going.

Thanks for the thoughts, well messing with the game helps get mind off of things sometimes.

I had to reinstall Xp, which I was planing on doing soon anyways. I won't lose anything real important accept some stuff I edited for my world. The rest of my stuff is on other partistions, so I should be up and running later tonight.
