Galactic Characters Reset

Anyone who remembers the early days of the game's World Servers will no doubt have fond memories of occasional server crashes necessitating a complete wipe of all player records. In tribute to that, the Galaxy server has recently undergone a minor internal crisis which means it requires a new set of player records.

(We could rebuild the old ones, but considering that the galaxy characters are pretty minimal at the mo, and many of them were created during various different stages of development of the galaxy server, i've decided its almost certainly not worth it.)

If you previously invested time getting an infimp and can't be bothered to go through that again, let me or one of the staff know and we may grant you a replacement.

The galaxy is currently set up so that it doesnt require too much effort to get a new infimp (in fact, going through that process again may actually be quite enjoyable..), and until space trading and other such stuff comes in occasional galaxy resets may happen again in the future.

All new characters currently start with an ion drive, stardrive and some uridium, so getting around the starting systems shouldnt be difficult for anyone.

None of this affects your characters on the worlds, which will remain in the same state as when you last visited.

for the time bieng have only granted world owners inf drives...

i think in all fairness and to keep the element of the galactic game going (because world owners can play also) it would only be fair that world owners should sacrifice the first 15 gal credits they earn. (thanks to Zar for highlighting a v. good suggestion)

lack of a starting ship is known. mit said it was a mistake he made in the galaxy config and would fix it soon.

you can easily get around it though. hit f12 to leave the island, reopen client, click continue game, fly wherever.

aye, will be fixed on gal server shortly.

Additionally, as a temporary measure till more decent starting worlds are open, Biplaneworld now has a max of 15cr possible - which means you've got a direct route to getting an infimp by playing through just that world. Grab the chance while it lasts..

look around the galactic ports its moved to another planet
