Websiteage!

Post by Mattizme »

Firstly, I'd like to say the new website is feckin' cool.

So far I've only spotted one problem - posts don't seem to count as 'read' any more - has Magic or Hedge been muckin about wiith phpBB stuff?

Anyway yeah, the website cool-ness is good.

you mean they always show as unread?
they do for me too, sometimes did on the old forums also. but after waiting a few mins they show as read.

think you just need to stay in the topic for a min or two so it remembers you read it

---edit
took me about 1-2 mins to type this reply, and now going back to the index shows it as read to me.
but before replying, i entered and exited multiple times and closed and reopened the browser a few times

that'd be one for magic; he's responsible for most of the backend, i mainly just stuck to workin on the design and textstyles n' that.

mit's done the download and model library sections, possibly some other bits i'm not aware of.

The unreadable posts thing seems to go away if you reply to a topic - meaning that all you have to do is post in the forum. However, that means lots of forum spamming - and it would be ncie if this got sorted.

EDIT: Correct that, you have to reply to the unread topic for it to go.

But it doesn't mark single posts as read.

ah yes apparently so.. and not only that, the administration panel is inaccessible to me now :) Wahey!

(Could you have a look at that magic? (I dont have access to any of the website control panel pages from work) The phpbb.com support bit says the unread posts happen coz of missing out the cookie domain name - putting theuniversal.net there blocked access to the page for me, so i used i-lands.net which seemed to work initially... oh hum)

Edit : um.. done now... i think.. maybe......
