Re: Help...
I am not sure how to log in yet using .32. I will still try a few more times, however I am very concerned about dieing on Zoric 8. Can you please suspend my players health decay until I can figure out how to log in and get him some food and drinks?
Thank you very much,

hello all, this is very upseting to me but there is nothing i can do. i have come to the conclusion after hrs of trying that there will be no way of me getting to zoric unless it is added to the quicklist. if anyone has ne advice for me it would be appreciated but nothing has helped so far. everytime i log into galaxy i am like a half hour or a little over from the sun. and obviously i cant drive that far to get to an isle, but its not just that, its that i cannot find zoric period. so hopefully with the most sensible thing to do will be to add zoric to the quik list seeing as its the most popular island around, but untill then, i see no way i can join it :-/ Bye

I have also done the same thing as Rueges, "flying around" for 20 to 30 mins looking for Zoric. I don't know if it is me or is Zoric not on the system yet? I am sorry about this, but I have tried everything that puggy and 252 suggested, but I am getting nowhere very fast.
Any advice would greatly help,
Thanks again, DUDE

If you started in Tau Ceti its because you joined the galaxy in the beta version when that was the starting system. New players start in Cirrus Minor by default now.
You can use the command !resetme to restart your galaxy character at any time, and you'll end up back in Cirrus.
Once you've got to zoric, goin back there each time is just a matter of whacking page up a couple of times - almost as quick as the quickplay list

i did what MIT suggested ( !resetme ) when i try to chose the option with Zoric as home world--- i get " Sorry, for this beta period only the first starting world may be chosen" so i did that and flew to the spacestation (that seemed to be preprogramed for me to easily find) and i docked. From there i used one of the "F"key( i forget which one) to get to a screen that showed zoric i scrolled down hit end and waited, waited, waited waited................
been 30 mins now and nothin. what i doin wrong ???

You need to actually fly to the planet to get there now. Go back to the normal outside space view and press F3 - itll show a map of the star system you're in. Click on Zoric on that map, then F1 to go back to the cockpit view. A little blue arrow will appear directing you to the planet. Use pageup to accelerate, wait a moment while you travel to the planet and then smash into it to land.
An um.. ah.. i completely forgot about the list of special servers inside the space station Thats not supposed to be there atm .
Will remove or fix that in a subsequent version.

mmmm.. well thats odd
I'll need to investigate that some more then, but I cant help much else without being on the galaxy - will have a look soon as i get home from work tonight.
In the meantime, you could perhaps try joining the openbeta chat, ( ?setchat openbeta ) and if theres any of the other staff members around ( hedge, fooli, magic, zar or devi ) they might be able to help out.
p.s. Could you please try the command " !find junk " and let me know what it says?

np.. sorry for the hiccups gettin started.. Is kindof expected when we change things around a lot like this, and it will get easier as things move on. As always with this lil game, theres an element of beta-testing goin on whenever you play.
One thing i'll look into adding soon is an extra frontend menu option to take you directly to the last world you were on - this'll be particularly useful if the galaxy server goes offline.

the !resetme works but it may take 4-5 tries then as MIT also said :Mit wrote:If you started in Tau Ceti its because you joined the galaxy in the beta version when that was the starting system. New players start in Cirrus Minor by default now.

Might as well use this opportunity to give a quick rundown on the galactic items available too.. :]
Ion Drive - Speeds up interplanetary travel. Rather than taking 5-10 minutes to get to zoric it'd take somethin more like 1-2.
Point Drive - Instantaneous travel within the star system. To use the point drive you select the planet you want to go to on the F3 system map, click the point drive button and then kaching, you're instantly teleported to your destination.
Stardrive - This is the basic drive for travelling between star systems. Select your destination star system on the F4 map, go back to the front view, then click the stardrive button on the left of the main screen. After a few seconds the stardrive sequence starts and shortly afterwards you'll arrive in the new star system.
Infinite Improbability Drive - This is the ultimate galactic traveller's companion. Click the infimp button on the left of main cockpit screen, type in the name of the planet you want to go to, have a sip of your nice cup of tea and as if by magic you'll find yourself in orbit of the planet you want to go to - anywhere in the galaxy. All you need is to know the name of the planet.
All this stuff is available in the space stations in the starting system.

if resetme doesen't bring you to cirrus, and you have no stardrive or anything, you could always quickly play threw one of the planets in Tau Ceti to earn gal creds and buy a stardrive.
if none are up, might be good to just get hedge, fooli, dev, or mit to bring you to cirrus minor
have done a global health suspension on zoric so nobody will die.
