Zion Stage 2

Post by Mit »

Starting sometime next week, the way Zion works will be changed - It doesnt fundamentally affect the way the economy runs but 2 major new features will be included to liven things up a bit..

1. An automated 12-hourly combat game - Every 12 hours (realtime) a cash prize will be awarded to the player with the most kills, and then player kill/death scores & bounties will be reset. If no-one has any kills in the last 12 hour period no prize is given.

2. "Home Towns" will be activated - This is a system similar to the Team game stuff you may have seen on Reine Blanche etc, but the team you're on is specified by your 'Home Town'. To choose a home town, you must drive to the town plinth in question and 'apply for residency'. The owner of the town must then confirm or deny your application.
Once you have a home town, you cannot harm players with the same home town.

The home town system will be extended further to provide a residents chat channel, and also probably a system so that you cannot harm ppl who don't yet have a home town (so players have to 'opt-in' to the fighting game).

A couple of tanks will be added to the Zion production lines and some further work will be done on the weapons available there to make the combat more fun. The prizes for the combat game will be set so that, if you were to win every 12hr game for a week (and can manage to avoid getting stung for too many high bounties) you'd almost certainly be one of the richest on the island.

there a way to prevent that so people don't just all hop on the winning town? :)

yeh, i know most fps games allow team switching and largely gamequette keeps people from piling onto one team...i dunno, maybe our players would balance themselves out....maybe :P

The owner of the town must then confirm or deny your application.
There'll also be a settings limit to the number of ppl on each home town.
