Since new update my client keeps on crashing cant do anything aww well

Could you provide any more info?
e.g. where is it crashing? on boot or when you do something? patch or full install?

p.s If you were crashing after clicking the 'Find World' button, I've just discovered the cause of this, which was a bug happening when there were more than 2 'active' worlds. This has been fixed on the universe server now.

Tried both got the auto update didnt work, dl the whole thing again still not work, explore space about to land on xebec lands then client just packs up its happening when trying to get to planets even tried zion still no joy

Ok, that isolates it down a bit. The main change in 0.66.1 that'd affect planets only is the water renderer.. that worked fine across a number of different machines i tried it on but guess it might not be happy on your set up. (Do you have a particularly old graphics card or PC?)

If you could, try going into Clients\Data\Shaders and renaming both the files in there temporarily. If that gets you running then that confirms its the water stuff, and i'll need to look at extra debugging info to work out whats going wrong there.

anything different will do.. change waterrender.psh to xxWaterRender.psh for instance. The game wont find em then.. it'll produce an error message or two (just click ok to ignore them) then it will fall back to the normal rendering. If this works i'll make it an option to make turn em off properly.

ok renamed the files still no joy before landing on a planet the screen goes white which i have never seen then the client just closes all together

I tried renaming both files, and one at a time and even the Shader folder, it crashes on me aswell.

mm, ok. well thats.. 'interesting'. Good news - in a way - that its not just the shaders, but now i have no idea whats causing it. i'll ponder..

are you guys playing in full screen mode or windowed mode?
If your in full screen mode, try running the game in windowed mode, or the opposite.

Often if playing in full screen mode, errors will pop up behind the game window where they can't be seen. The game window then wont respond due to waiting for you to look at the error and will result in windows thinking it's crashed. Or if you end up hitting Enter or Space, you will inadvertently tell the hidden error window to Abort or Retry resulting in the game crashing.

If it wasn't that, could either of you try installing the full install to a brand new folder and try with that, just to confirm its not an issue with previously cached data.

It still crashes for me.
Also for the error message, there doesn't come anything up, it just crashes immediately when i enter a world (with renamed shaders of course), no errors.

Okeydoke. I'll put together an update with some frontend options to turn off some of the systems that changed in 0.66.1 to help us isolate it. (My guess at the moment is its the dynamic reflection used on the water, although the code looks sound enough and I can't see a particular reason why it would behave differently for some than for others). I'll let you know when thats built.. might involve a few different trials and so any help & feedback you can give testing would be much appreciated.

Ok tried all of the above reinstalled to a new folder tried the window modes all the same it still crashes the client trying to enter a planet

If you get chance, please could you copy the exe from that zip over the one in the 66.1 install, then run the game, select options -> Video and then disable 'Dynamic Reflections'.

If that makes no difference, lemme know then i'll dig further through the recent changes and add more options to disable stuff until we find it.

Have you tried hitting F1 before your client fully connects to a world and then clicking Enter world when the button lights up?

Going into chat window and into "Video Card Options" there's no such option, nor in other options (Before and after entering a world)
And doing what you said zar makes an CreateDevice error :|
