generally ...
when you pvp it's more like 1 - 10 minutes lost as you have to run back to the spot you were at in the map... you character remains the same, some carried weapons and ammo are lost, but when you die you it's not a wholly discouraging experience.
more annoying is the general shurg in the development community toward these types of complaints.
I'm Done
Depends on the type of PvP.
In a game like world of warcraft, yes, you get killed and there isn't much to lose.
Then you get games where you build cities/bases. Smaller ones like Travian/Ikariam, and larger scale ones like the old game 10six. You spend lots of time building up your army, gathering resources, building up your base, and a stronger player can come by and loot the heck out of you and possibly even claim your base.
Different players like different types of PvP.. As was said plenty of times already, if you don't like PvP and/or the risk of loosing everything to another player, then just don't play on PvP worlds. It's exactly why I don't play Xebec, it's also why I hardly played the chapters.
*tosses a small bone*
It's why zoric has never been PvP except for nothing-to-lose occasional fun heli fights.
I have plans to make a wilderness survival world that has no PvP., it is what Pandora will eventually be. You are stranded on an island, there are mountains, forests, deserts, and grasslands and your goal is to survive. You run around collecting and gathering resources to build your village, craft things, trade with other villages, and survive. No PvP or attacking because I don't like those kinds of worlds.

we are not talking about a community with thousands or even hundreds of players, there might be a dozen daily players. is it so unreasonable to believe that a dozen people could get along for a few weeks/months?
lightmun was a total coward in how he went about it, when i was idle playing a new game a game that i am still playing so quit telling me to find a new game....
i feel like people wanted to see what would happen....
well... it's happening....

Lotta world class personalities coming out of Canada these days huh
On a more serious note, I've tried to be the word of wisdom for you ultra but you seem so wrapped up in your emotions that it just seems to go in one ear and out the other. Seriously dude, you should just sit there for a moment and read back everyone of the posts you've made so far regarding this incident and then see how pathetic you actually look because that's just how it looks to me.
If this is really who you are as a person then I am actually somewhat glad you have decided to leave the game, because if not now, you would have only flipped somewhere down the line. You honestly have the traits of a kid who would go and shoot up his school because they stole his lunchbox with words like that, in which case, you should probably get some help.

Nah, while I do have my asshole tendencies, in regards to you I'd say I'm being pretty civil personally. At first I was really just trying to calm you down a bit but after seeing just how stubborn and simpleminded you really are I have kind of given up on that front and decided I will treat you as a form of entertainment for now.ultramarine wrote:balidin you seem like the kinda asshole who would eat some lead because you stole someones lunchbox
moreover being called pathetic by someone who is equally so does not really bother me.
zaroba your comments are getting redundant and stale.

its definitely a dark chapter but some would probably be surprised that the game saw this much action and emotion recently. its sad that ultra left, but i was there and witnessed it, he didnt attempt to fight back. instead played this card. dont feel bad lightmun, if anyone should feel ashamed its me, i conspired war on a planet that i created. but you know what, guys? i dont feel that bad. its a game. I am sorry Ultra's feelings got hurt but I have seen much worse things on the internet, and I honestly dont think he saw my side of it... honest fun. this wasnt an attack on him or his charachter. he was my friend and i am still to this day surprised that he took it so personally. sure, it takes time to build a city that nice, but the fact is... its a war game. i put weapons in the game. forgive me for wanting to see some tactics... for once. people take online drama way too seriously. I am sad to see him go, but he can't hold the game hostage by threatening to leave. sorry, thats my opinion. I hope he comes back and plays again with a more open mind. he was one of the few players to succesfully terraform an area, his town WAS the best in long time, but if his plan for having cannon fired at him (which is supposed to be part of gameplay) was leave the game, then he is saying that he doesnt wanna play in a world with weapons. I put weapons on xebec cause i was bored, bu being an amateur game maker, i didnt realize that tempers will actually get heated on xebec. thats fine for me. I wanted a world where anything goes. where someone could come and break the rules. you could even kill noobs there. with so many options, it leaves room for creative play. I hope ultra and ... players in general come back,. i know if theyre anything like me, i have alot more work to do these days and less time for playing. anyway, the world is there. wheres hamidinator when you need him?
