the LY stuff still works...mostly.
In the world editor, texture layer tool, if you click the 'Layer' button under the thing that shows the selected texture, it will pick what layer to put over the texture. It doesn't show a preview currently so you'll have to remember what is what.
There are 7 layers to choose, but only 4 files used.
Layers 1-4 use LY1, rotated 4 times.
Layer 5 uses LY3
Layer 6 uses LY2
Layer 7 uses LY5

Here are some example LY files.
If you use them, rename the blah portion of the filename so it matches your main surface file. They also need to be the same extension as the main surface file so if your using a jpg for the main surface, these will need to be changed from bmp to jpb
