Well I recall a server setting that said if there's no server connection to the net, there's no hunger/thirst gain or health decay. Not sure how it is currently, but its a possibility.
And if the server isn't running time stands still in-game.

From the news about properly 'restarting', is it alluding to us retaining our wisdom thru the restart, or does staying alive going to be futile come the 'proper start'?

Either way, in a month, looking back the effect overall of a couple server hickups wont be of consequence more than the few hours of our life that isnt fullfilled fully by being connected to this glorious digital commune.

So just sit back and roll with it. Because nothing a bunch of grunting around is going to do anything about XD

I am quite aware of that but since i have uum 2 comps around and both died cause the power supply got fried when bad weather hit us pretty hard.

But besides that i dont have a problem that i am behind now, i just have a problem when i carfully plan my harvest times and ingame eating times so i get max age out of my char and then i loose those things i gained due to something which are out of my ways.

@morv i know that the aging and hunger does not go on when the server is not running problem is that you currently cant eat when you dont have n hunger, even berries have that limit, this is what currently bothers me cause i cant decide when to eat just to get the max age out of my char.

I am also a power gamer key. I always try to gain stats as fast as I can and get threw games as fast as I can.

But, this place is different. This game taught me long ago that it's best to take it as it comes. I found that trying to push and shove forward accomplishes little in this game because you can't accurately anticipate what is coming next and this game has a slow pace to it, especially now. Long term wise, I found that slow and steady is best for this place.

To each his own.
You can push forward all you want, then when you have hit that first place position and decide to relax having accomplished your goal, I'll just take over quickly while avoiding the mistakes you made while rushing threw

It's how I became number 1 on any world I played seriously.

Well when i hit first position i do what i can to cement that position so i dont slack around when reaching it ^^. As long as competition is within the games ruleset and is not pvp centric im fully for it. I see this as a PvE race compare it to " i beat that boss first " in your average cookie cutter mmo like WoW.

From our discussions, I am guessing that you are very motivated and strong willed.
It should be fun competing with you in the future when player made worlds become available again.

Thanks for the flowers :)
Yeah i assume it will be fun, but i also can be very cooperative which merley depends on how a game works. In any event when i do something i try to do it as good as possible is describing it best i think. Im not purley competitive as it may sound froum our discussion i enoy working together on something too but i dont fear competition in any type of PVE enviroment.

As said my motto is do it right or dont do it at all.
So when i play a game i want to be good at it ^^

So um, anyway.. :) Back to the original discussion.

Sorry, seemed it died again about 10 minutes after i went to sleep last night. (Server was obviously missing me). Whatever the crash is its being compounded by the fact that windows has decided to suddenly start pretending that a crashed program is actually running fine, which is most odd, and has resulted in me spending a good couple of hours on the microsoft developer network tonight. (The conclusion being that its definitely definitely a windows problem that affects 64-bit machines.. a healthy conclusion if the server was actually a 64-bit machine :] ).

Anyway.. its back up again now. Am expecting a bit more downtime at some point soon when the root problem occurs again, but i've tweaked the server setup so that i should be able to track it down when it happens.

Apologies for the downtime.

An interesting side effect is that my farm (which I had harvested last night between the two blackouts) gave another harvest today.

Back now.
That was the weird crash that knocked out the server in the first place, it should now be fixed. (One of the manual server commands wasnt correctly coping with the large number of residents in each town).
