in order to get threw the chapter faster, we should all work together.
if we share our inventions, we will easily get threw the chapter.
There are 1139 possible combinations of the 17 known items.

Last I heard from Mit, he said not to worry about inventing stuff, because he needs to fix some things. That means that will need to retest many of these combinations after he fixes things. It's cool that everybody is working together this time, but for now, things are messed up and we shouldn't put a lot of effort into inventing stuff.

how to collect water:
go to the watering hole, drink from it to fill your thirst
then drink from it again. you'll get a message saying that since your not thirsty, you collect water in your basket.

water will appear in your inventory and can be used in tasks

Probably failed: fire + black rocks + black rocks. Didn't see the failure happening, but had nothing in my inventory the day after.

(Aside) Ah, wes.. I checked the chat log and i presume what youre referring to was my statement on leaving on sunday night :
"Mit> please try not to invent everything before i get back to fix stuff tomorrow :]"
The key word being 'everything'

All should be set up through to steel and a lil bit beyond - just the end sequence to chapter 2 isn't quite finished yet. That'll be a while yet.
