Tisk tisk tisk.

Post by Mishka »

My buildings on Vert are being naughty. They are producing even if they don't have workers, which is not what I want.

I want them to produce only if they have workers.

And to top that, they say "employs YY being paid X d every 10 seconds". Every 10 seconds???

You guys know what could solve these two issues?

if you don't want them to produce every 10 seconds, set Economy -> Global Production Rate to 0. having it set to anything else results in buildings producing every setting times 10 seconds.

also check economy -> Storage Reduction Percentage, Production Time Efficiency Mod and Production Cost Efficiency Mod are set to something other then 0, or lack of an employee with have little effect

make sure that the Buildings -> Building Efficiency Calc is set so their efficiency is effected by employees

One more thing, everything seems to be fine now. However, the building is following the bdat setting, and is now producing every 1 day (just as I intended).

However, I thought that meant every game day, not real time. Right now, it seems to be working in real time.

The days on Vert last 5 minutes, how do I make the building produce every 5 minutes (like on Zion), that is: every game day?

can either edit the bdat so each item only takes 1 game day or set Global Production Rate to 60, which would make buildings produce every 600 seconds (the method zion uses).

keep in mind that these settings are based on a building being at 100% efficiency.
if the Production Time Efficiency Mod is set to reduce an unemployed buildings production time, then it would slow down the production a lot.

zion also uses the Global Efficiency Calc setting to make unemployed buildings have 0% efficiency and full employment equal 100% efficiency

i can't actually look in zion's settings, but to the best of my guessing, zion uses these settings:

*settings:
Buildings->Building Efficiency Calc = 3
-0% efficiency when unemployed, full employment means 100% efficiency, building damage does not effect efficiency
Economy -> Storage Reduction Percentage = 100
-% that storage capacity is reduced by having a building with 0% efficiency. set to 100, a a 0% efficient building holds 0 items
Economy -> Global Production Rate = 60
-setting x 10 = number of seconds to produce. 60 = 600 seconds = 5 mins, multiplied further by bdat setting, so if you wanted to use this, you would still need to set the time to make each item to 1 day in the bdat for each item in each building.
Economy -> Economy rate = 3
-employees paid every time production cycle runs. set it to 0 if you want employees paid monthly, or 1 if you want daily. 2 and 3 link it to global production rate, but 3 has unemployment monthly

Thanks Zaroba. It's all a quite complicated at first glance, specially when you have no absolute idea how the settings are related with each other.

Thanks sport. :wink:
