Saleucami has started!

Post by Arklari »

Hunger/Thirst economy world, if it's your first time on such a world type &converse when you arrive to contact Saleucami Planetary Control.

The game is heavily family based. Max family size is 20, and the family wage grant is 25%. Every building that produces something, save for a power generator, requires 1 job to be at max efficiency. Except for starship facilities, which require two.

Economy Info:
Sales tax = 2%, Retail sales tax = 2%. Max buildings = 15 (3 of one type, 6 different types). Max jobs = 3, skills = 5. 14d = 1sheckle
Unemployment benefit = 7s per month (Approx 2 hours and 30 minutes realtime). Employer wage grant : 6s6d. Family wage grant 25%
Wealth Tax : 10% if you have over 10000s, 25% over 25000s. Wages paid from building investment

Royalty system in place. For more information, reference in game literature. (It's referred to as "Planetary Governorship")

The planet is split into three regions: Mountains, Desert, and Jungle. Different resources are available at different locations, meaning your family will either need to control multiple cities or work with other families or people to obtain royalty.

The Governing Family gets access to vehicle 22, as well as the Governor's Palace in Caldera (which in turn gives them Sysat Uplinks, or island maps, for their whole family if they choose).

I will be away from my server for the weekend, I'll still be around to address issues just won't be able restart it or anything in case galserv goes down.

If it does though, don't worry as health decay is automatically suspending in such a case.

Change log (December 10th, 2009)

Production Costs and Time
I. Mine extraction rate was reduced (now mines half as much after twice as long)

II. Moisture collection rate was reduced (now collects water at a slower rate, once every five days)

III. Power Generator rate reduced to account for Mine and Moisture Collector's reduced production rates. Power Generation cost reduced.

IV. Crashed Ship now produces one Scavenged Ship Datacard every 365 days. Was previously set at Harvest Day.

World
I. Maps will be activated once the planet reaches a certain level of civilization (rather than only being available to the royal family). "Civilization" is a hidden value having to do with active participants, cities built, and buildings constructed.

II. Fixed an issue that didn't allow players to properly gather items found in the Desert and Jungle regions.

Change log (December 11, 2009)

Construction
I. The Dominion Government has decided to subsidy the first three cities to be built on Saleucami, and has subsequently reduced the cost to lay a city foundation.

II. The cost to build a Lommite mine has been reduced. It now also requires durasteel instead of Lommite. Lommite continues to be present only in the desert region.

III. The power generator has been moved into the production category to avoid confusion.

Employment
I. Employers are being held more accountable for paying their employees. Wages will now be paid by the owner's bank account or cash if there's not enough building investment.

World
I. All Characters will be given a 100s bonus to celebrate the 10th game year of the world.

II. A racetrack was added. It tours the world by visiting all four of the great monoliths found on every world in the galaxy. A road is being constructed to make the route more visible.

III. Health Decay due to hunger was increased.

IV. Larger houses now grow small amounts of Raw Fungus to encourage their use.

V. The purchase price of Raw Fungus and Raw Ossberries at the Explorer's Inn has been raised significantly. Additionally, it now counts as a "Leisure" facility instead of retail.

Change Log (December 13, 2009)

Construction
I. Ownership settings changed to three maximum types, six of each type. From six types, three of each.

II. The first Lommite mine has been built, in the city of Oasis! The Lommite Converter has ceased to give lommite for durasteel.

World
I. The overall terrain was smoothed out a bit to give less of an appearance of sharp, triangle like inclines.

II. Reduced the cost of some farm good products.

III. Family Size is now unlimited.

IV. Fixed a few naming issues, mostly related to car and car components.

V. Added some textures to make the roads look better.

Developer's Diary

In order to make the world feel more real, over break I'm going to try and work on specific models for each region. Though most of this will not be effective this version, houses will look specific depending on what region they're in. There might also be a difference in cost, to make one place more cheap to reside in.

Additionally I'm looking into getting all of the placeholder models replaced, or at least something more suitable replacements (such as the hovertrans for the X-34, instead of a giant mech. Heh)
