Welcome to the Ciroz News Network.
Your source of information for all things related to Ciroz.

The big news today is that Zoric Enterprises has givin permission to the government of ciroz to open its doors to immigration after the world sat empty and uninhabital for such a long time. Local businesses took instant notice to this and started setting up shop in the entry town of the world, Paradigm City.

Municipal Services:
Although the government has founded many towns on the land for people to colonize, Paradigm City was chosen to hold a majority of the worlds Municipal Services since it is also the immigration entryway. Due to the worlds uncharted territory, a hospital was set up in Paradigm City to offer medical services. However due to the current lack of insurance agencies on Ciroz, there services come at a price. Paradigm City was also chosen as the location to build the Ciroz Police Dept so that crime wont be much of an issue. The most important building is quite possibly the construction of the Employment Agency in Paradigm City. At the employment agency, Ciroz residents can be trained for working at all the offices and warehouses that will eventually populate the world.

Residential Services:
So far a few residential towers with a capacity of 1000 people each have been built in Paradigm City. More residential towers in Paradigm City are sure to follow, as well as towers in other cities around the world as the population expands. Rumors have also surfaced about towers with a capacity of 5000 people and towers with a capacity of 10000 people will possibly be coming in the future as the demand for housing grows. However, government housing has not yet been built for the delivery people of the world. The construction planning team of Zoric Enterprises is still working on the blue prints. Unfortunately, mail delivery has not yet been set up either.

Exportation:
Due to the unique qualities of the world, exportation will be a key part in the global economy of Ciroz. Already a rail depot has been established east of Paradigm City to handle some outbound cargo. There are no plans to have stuff imported at this time and it seems unlikely that anything will ever need to be imported due to the vast assortment of available goods on the planet.

Transportation:
As of yet there are no transportation services available on the planet. But rumors have been circulating about bus transportation between several cities in the future. However, which cities is still unknown since only time will tell what cities become large and which stay small. The automotive industry is still working on getting permits to set up a DMV on the planet so they can issue drivers licenses and later, vehicles.

A minor update on the progress of ciroz from CNN

Zoric Enterprises still has all construction projects halted on the planet as re-terraforming of the planet goes on.

Ciroz project manager Roy Echizen made this statement about the progress: "While we and others believed we did a good job with the terraforming, we knew it could be far better. at the time, the technology wasn't around for high quality terraforming and that left the job looking blurry on the planet. but with the advent of the Transterraformanator 2000, we have the ability to re-terraform the planet with much more clarity in the surface detail, while also providing faster syncing with visiting ship's computer systems. we are a little over half way done and expect completion in a few days."

When asked about the construction plans Roy said "once the re-teraforming is completed, expect a vast increase in new construction of the planet and establishment of several new towns."

This just in from Roy Echizen, terraforming manager:

"due to unforseen delays, the reterraformation of planet ciroz was set back a little bit. we are now 3/4 of the finished and expect to be done in a few days."

new textures for ciroz are done...but a problem.
i miscalculated stuff.

in tests, an 8192x8192 jpg with lossless conversion was only 4.2mb.
just finished the new textures, and once converted the same way, they take up 142mb (192mb as 24bit bmps)

the original tests were only done with textures containing 4-10 colors, not with textures containing up to 32k colors

don't know what to do now.

sad news.
it seems that the game engine can't currently handle displaying 8192x8192 texmaps.
going to try for 4096x4096 next week.
