as i understand it, after 30 days they only get marked for being eligible for deletion. but the deletions only happen as new players join, and they start with the oldest account.

That's right zar. Accounts are only recycled when new accounts are needed, for new players; the gal looks for anything inactive past 30 days, tosses a coin or two, and picks one to wipe/re-use for a new player.

Just to make sure but shouldn't the server delete the player who hasn't logged in the longest? Even if it was only a few minutes rather than a person who's been gone for 31 days and not 68 e.g.?

Probably. For all I know that's what it does, but it wouldn't surprise me if it randomly chose an account inactive for more than 30 days, cos that's the way mit's mind works. Perhaps. All we know for sure is, log in at least once a month or bad things could happen to your galaxy character.

It chooses the player who has last logged in longest ago.

Note also that anyone who has made a donation and had it registered on their gal account is not eligible for deletion, no matter how long its been since they were last on.
