That's right. It's Satuday Oct. 4th! (for those of you who are time travelers or just really hungover)
I'd like to do a quick review of what will happen today so that most people are on the same page. Even if you haven't been reading the other posts about it.
F.A.Q.
Q: What is a Fightnite?
A: Fightnites were originally started thanks to a player named coolbiker who wanted to get a bunch of players together for a large space battle. The evening was divided into different types of competitions for which prizes were awarded.
Q:When is it?
A: Tonight (Sat. Oct. 4th) at 8PM EST (1AM GMT). I hope everyone can arrive a bit early. We'll be meeting on Zoric (one of the planets on the Finite Drive list) for a race.
Q: Who can join a Fightnite?
A: Everyone, silly!
Fightnites are designed to be social event as well as a competition. There are no minimum requirements for participating in any event. Although it might be helpful to have a mining kit already purchased. If you don't have one and can't afford it, I can supply you with the money necessary.
Q: What are the Events?
A: A Big Race on Zoric (race cars will be provided)
Operation Space Convoy (something like a cross between capture-the-flag and American football only with spaceships)
Operation Dwarven Thunder (Teams asteroid-mine and steal as many minerals as they can)
Battle Royale (Teams try to be the last with a ship standing)
Q: What are the Prizes?
A:Prizes will be awarded for performance in each event.
Race: 5,000cr for 1st, 3,000cr for 2nd, and 2,000 for 3rd
Space Convoy: 30,000cr to be divided amongst the winning team as they see fit.
Dwarven Thunder: 20,000cr for winning team
Battle Royale: 50,000cr for winning team
Q: What if I (don't have a good ship/ am not a great pilot/ don't like the taste of human blood/ etc.)?
A: No worries. Most of the events will be team-based. You'll be fighting with the help of expert dog-fighters and strategists. Plus there are almost certainly others just like you who will be easy pickin'.
Even if you and your team don't win an event, I'll make sure you walk away with a few prize credits. So next fightnite you will have a ship armed to the teeth.
Q: Won't killing other players in space give me a bounty?
A: Not if all goes according to plan.
Assuming I (fhko) get System guardian powers, bounties and shields will be disabled.
Q: Is there anything other than fighting going on?
A: Yes. The upcoming fightnite will be the first (as far as I know) that will feature an on-world race. It's the only event where players will compete individually. I'll be taking a video of the event so the winners will always live in the TU Halls of Honor.
Q:What happens when it's all over?
A: That's partly up to those participating. I would like to get a big screenshot or video of everyone at the end. After that, if there are people still interested in playing (which is great), we can start improvising events by request (although I'll be all out of prize money by that point).[/b]

AH MAN, i cant beleive i missed that! the great stimutacs has completed his rebirthing process however his ship is powered by a wireless connection which causes him to be on different plains of existance than other players.. who appear "invisible" to he. and visa versa, but soon his ship's gettin cable and shall be betting 20 credits on Stimutacs for winner in the battle royal next time.
would it be possible to have a bit more notice next time?
