Alright, I've finally got all the settings for my world typed up, I'm looking for somebody to type them in for me since my client crashes when I use *settings. Right now I'm redownloading everything, I'm going to do a fresh install of the game and everything to try getting rid of some bugs(especially the space mode seizures). I'm also going to download the Zion.isl so I can steal the awesome crow settings. I'm really wanting people to comment on this and suggest some stuff, tell me whether you like it or not. I'm also looking for planet name suggestions. I have a basic Idea that can change, here it is....
Life on Earth is gone, everything is dark and foggy. The only survivors are staff who work at Area 51(not to be confused with Ariya 51 ). Everything is Government controlled. You progress your way through the game until you have what's needed to rebel against the Government.
That's about all I have decided on, things can change with new ideas. I'm thinking of making it a team game towards the end or maybe just an econ... like I said, I'm open to suggestions. Hope I remembered everything I wanted to say. Thanks for your cooperation. See you ingame.
Phase 1 complete, seeking input

Ok, sounds like a sound concpt, ish.
Right.
1) what basic materials will exist?
2) What kind of buildings can be created?
3) Sounds a lot like drellis, is it?
There are more specifics, but you get the picture; could do with a bit more information. I'm happy to help wih your world. I started aking worlds ages a go, but my computer wasn't up to it. But I've got a shiny new laptop so should be useful now XD.

I'm afriad I think I'm right in saying that the universal isn't the best for coperative gameplay, due to the sporadic appearence of members usually in completely different places. To make The Universal work as a cooperative game, it would have to have membership of runescape-ian proportions (apologies for the mention of the dreadful game).
Another concept is that The Universal is simply too big. There must be nearly 600 galaxies in the game. Compared to the average number of users online- ranging from 3 through to about 12- this is absolutely vast. Methinks Mit may need to nuke large parts of the universe.

theres 1 galaxy in TU. 500something star systems (solar system, like the milky way ) (524, or something?) anyway, if you compare to our real 'out there-ness', its not that much big really =) Plus whats a vast space have to do with cooperative planetary gameplay? The planets that are inhabitable are concentrated in a few clustered star systems that are all pretty well easily reachable.
Cooperative gameplay in planets isnt that hard to pull off, with a few players stretched across a days worth of time zones.. its a matter of knowing whats going on and how to work the game. It doesnt need a runescape or whatever type playerbase for enjoyable functionality... just needs some quality players that stick aruond a while =).

The Milky Way has between 200.000 to 400.000 millions of stars, you cant make a game with so many stars, plus the galaxy is called "Andromeda", and the real Adromeda is even bigger than the Milky Way.
Galaxies? You mean stars right? There is only 1 galaxy at the moment, and like you yourself said, we got more than enough with that.Another concept is that The Universal is simply too big. Ok, ok. Yes I meant Star Systems.
But let's not be pedantic comparing it to real life. You both know exactly what I mean. The Universal Galaxy is enormous.
Yes, the playable planets are pretty much focused, however, the average number of online players simply does not justify co-operative gameplay.
For true co-op you need to have at least two members of the same team online, in the same world, at the same time. This just dosn't hapen at the moment.

not really...at the same time.... not all the time, anyway.. thats the beauty of planets. they can be set where someone can spend not much time online and still do well, its a matter of setting your buildings to work right.
but, yes, the player base does left much to be desired as far as numers go... but, I (and im sure most that has spent any time around this community feel the same way ) believe quality far outweighs quantity as far as the playerbase is concerned.

In a way I'm sorta glad that I'm getting some feedback bout my planet.
For the questions/ statements:
Co-op play wouldn't be hard if people like the planet and actually stay and play(note to self... turn off fishing so people dont afk on me, sorry viad). I'm hoping with the addition of a new planet, maybe more players will see a reason to stay. by limiting some things i could make it a must have co-op game but that would make it impossible for that 1 hardcore player to make his way by himself. I'm not sure how the plotting thing would work without much to compete against.there are no true npc's unless i do the whole activate trigger thing, they can't fight back though, guess they could also function as a turret. Another way would be to allow the players to split up into teams and kill each other, maybe one team being the government side. Possibly, I could make nobody be on that side and once that side is gone, it's just player built teams against each other. thanks for the ideas, jah(wouldnt have thought them up without that) then plotting would make sense so more than likely it will be players on both sides whether the gov is one of the sides.
Here's a few things you might want to know.
I now have everything downloaded and installed, Zion's crow settings, and a possible world name.... blackened(Song I listened to when the name thing popped up, coincidentally about earth after it's dead). I could change the name later. I don't have much time to make the world, it will be completed hopefully within a month's time. I have school finals, it's near graduation time for me, it's just a busy time of year.
That's about it, thanks all. See you in-game.
P.S. WELCOME BACK DK444!!!

About the buildings, a lot of the first buildable buildings will be the same as the Gov owned buildings.2) What kind of buildings can be created?
I'm not sure how it is like drellis, I like to think it's more Ariya-like, I know Ariya has definately influenced my taste in worlds. It's all how you preceive it though, if you think it's like Drellis, it is. Who knows, by the time I'm finished the world might be a whole new world type.3) Sounds a lot like drellis, is it?
I think a cooperative gameplay would be really good. Would be fun to plan and plot with other players on the planet.

I completely agree. I was just looking at the situation from an objective point of view.but, yes, the player base does left much to be desired as far as numers go... but, I (and im sure most that has spent any time around this community feel the same way ) believe quality far outweighs quantity as far as the playerbase is concerned
