After thinking about it ,I agree,he did go too far, even if he was frustrated it's no excuse to start name calling. I was saying something to him at the time about the TOS,so in retrospect, I felt the same way about it as you do, when I was witnessing it.

jblz isnt the only case. newbs start out and click on the factions button, they're like "cool im gonna create my own faction!" they launch into space and get blown up by a cruiser. thats my point. let them at least get a feel for the game before being blown to bits.

i cant stand the protected zones as much as the next guy, but theyre there, and cruisers sit around for hours being protected. might as well make cirrus and tau ceti fully protected again so that the newbs can understand how to trade. the regs will find a place to fight.

Still feel that posting the url for the wiki more prominently AND somehow urging newbs to join and read the forum more would solve many newb problems.Informed newb's aren't quite so newbish ;).A quick read thru the forum here and it's fairly easy to see what each faction is about, and where they stand regarding other factions.

Ok that's not my problem anymore.

I disagree, everything happens in Cirrus and Tau, if they restrict weapons there, the space fights will be nill as it has happened before.

and then they decide to contact the owners of other factions and declare wars with them?
theres kinda a difference between kill on site and neutral.

on a side note, if you know your faction is at war, why bring newbs into it?
you can teach them just as easily without them being in it.

the whole nature of factions is war. if a newb creates his own faction and doesnt even talk to anyone else.. when i (or mishka) shows up in space it lists them under enemy factions. see my point?

A solution could be not letting them join or create a faction till they get a certain ship or get a certain amount of money.

i've seen in some games where it would actually cost money to create a faction/clan/alliance/whatever you wanna call it. and these could only handle a limited amount of members, however you could pay money to 'buy' member slots to increase its size.

I think 300 000cr to make a guild is a good fine, and 100 000cr to join is ok too.

We actually need more factions right now, not less.

Plus, most newbs probably want to create their own factions and there should not be any restrictions denying that. Just don't kill newbs of enemy factions when they're trading. Just wait until they drop their cargo off before you kill them.

Once again I think the solution is information not putting restrictions on things, can we get a link to the wiki posted on "The Universal Web Link" so that newbs can find it easily? And maybe a reminder to join the forum and read it!This discussion started because JBLZ joined a faction(NR) that is notorious to everyone here on the forum. If he had known NR's history he might have thought twice or at least been informed about what he was getting into!

something else that would help this if a war system was put in place and faction power would only change when blowing up somebody your faction had actually declared war on.

oh, and to stop people from just declaring war on newb factions for the power, both sides should have to accept the war.

for the war to stop, one side should have to submit a surrender request and the other side accepts it.

Well Mishka that is exactly what I was getting at when I said NR is notorious, maybe if JBLZ had known more about it,he wouldn't have joined maybe he would have ,but he would at least have known what he was getting himself into!

I agree there should be some other designations for other factions besides "enemy" and "newbs".Enemy kinda sends the wrong message and tends to probably encourage fights, but then again maybe that's the intent;)Gotta say there are a lot more people playing in space now!Even Zaroba has been seen offplanet participating in space battles!Lol.

Not sure I agree with the whole declaring war and surrender thing being structured, sounds a little to restrictive for my tastes.

I the Sandgroper is sitting back here in my good o chair and LOL. at these so called factions. The way I see it, it is the factions leaders who are not doing there job. If they were newbe's would not be killed.
If factions what new players, then the leader should do there job and keep the new players safe.

Now on the other hand if new players in factions do not listern to the leader, then by all means that player should be killed or kicked out of the faction. The player then has him or her self to blame.

As for the other post. There are rules and it is up to the admin to deal with it.

PS: Any how have a Kit Kat and keep posting. I is having a good old laugh at you all.

   For a player you sits around in the newbe systems and blows up them wee small cargo transports knows nothing at all. If you did you would of known that I stop trading on the other side of the galaxy months a go. Now I trade closer to the newbe systems.
Plus you should have noticed that I have been poping into the newbe system for a coffiee break. Plus I think to me self should I or should I not sell new tec in the system. Just for the fun of it, just to see if you so called hot shots will chase me.

Is it really that hard to wait just 5 minutes until the newb's done trading? Space is fine as it is w/o so many restrictions. The only things it could really use are some ship customization options and players.

Woah don't get so defensive mate, atleast I have killed more elite players than you have ever and will ever. And atleast I know what we are talking about here. Atleast I know what happens in the galaxy rather than just sit alone on the other corner. And more... and more.. Oh, and tleast I don't call myself a "Sandgropper"

Heh... what a guy.

P.S. Not gonna waste my time looking for you, I realised that long time ago, when I saw a few of your posts that's it's totally not worth it.
