resizing a world makes buildings completly vanish

Post by zaroba »

Software:Universal Client
Version Number:all

Location

Description:
if you resize a world that has buildings on it, they will completely vanish, yet still show as being owned.

they will still show blue dots on the map in there correct locations, you can still do *showowned to see them, you can still *goto them, but they will not be visible. you can't .destroy them, and can't access menus on them.

client and server restart does not make them reappear, nor does resizing the world a second time to put it back to its original size.

Steps to Replicate:
build some buildings
resize the world
relog, restart the world
*goto one of the buildings
see they aren't there

mmm. just tested this on a copy of zion (with server 0.51.8 and client 0.51.9.1) and all is fine. theres a few height issues until the client relogs but even then, buildings still appear and are accessible, and a relog everything looks normal.

Are you just changing the *settings -> Landscape -> Landscape Scale.

I guess its probably be connected to other landscape settings you're using. Could you copy and paste the landscape settings from a settings text export so i can see whats different?

can you also verify this problem still exists in the latest beta client (0.51.9.1) coz i fixed a few location-y issues with that one already

had happened when i was resetting zoric last....friday it might have been.

Did this ever get fixed or the cause identified? It's happened to me too...
