Quite simple. The ship landing/docking animations are broken in the new beta.

Example of me landing on planet Zion:

Where are you going??

Also, when entering a space station, you see the ship approach the station from quite a distance, but the animation stops way before even coming close to it.

yep confirmed by well me.. just happen 3 times in a roll

I have the new beta and nothing like this is happening to me.

Works for me too. But, I can confirm this is something mit has been playing with (camera positions etc for landing sequences) and they ain't finished yet...

Yeah, but it flies away from the planet instead of towards it, which can't be right.

for me it was flying along the surface, just much higher up.

Mine doesn't do that, mine does some stunts then it lands.
